CJ Anderson

Looks like he's done in Denver. Would it be worth giving a 4th or 5th and cutting stew to bring him in? Someone proven and a RB down there won't have an immediate impact.

Anderson closed out the Broncos' disappointing 2017 as one of the bright spots with his first career 1,000-yard rushing season, but he was openly wondering what his future would be immediately following the season finale. Anderson's contract is structured in such a way the Broncos could release him, with two years remaining on the deal, without any "dead money'' charge against the salary cap. The team also seems intent on getting Devontae Booker into the No. 1 role. Coach Vance Joseph, somewhat surprisingly to many with the team and in the league, fired assistant head coach/running backs coach Eric Studesville after the 5-11 finish, a move Anderson was particularly critical of on social media. Add it all up and Anderson appears to be headed elsewhere. If that's the case, the Dolphins will have interest given the Broncos matched Miami's deal two years ago to keep Anderson. -- Jeff Legwold

He's actually scheduled to make less than Stew. His contract isn't out of line with his production at all. Hell, he probably wants to get cut because he could probably get more money elsewhere. Right now there's no guaranteed money at all in his contract. I think he just fell out of favor with the coaching staff and they have a younger RB who isn't as good that for some reason they think is the answer. Anderson has never averaged under 4ypc in his career. Booker has never averaged over 3.8ypc. I think the donkeys are making a mistake here if they jettison Anderson and his reasonable contract for Booker.

I'm completely against signing a FA RB.

He will be on the downside of his career as a RB at 27, cheaper options are available in the draft.

Don't buy high on RBs. Buy low, ride them into the ground for a few years, kiss them good-bye when their rookie deals are over if they don't sign cheap.

Why does everyone want to give up a like a 4th round draft pick ( which we don't have) for just an average or ok running back.  Half this board is draft these 20 guys and we are in the super bowl, the other half is give away all our picks for these guys and we will be in the super bowl.  You can get these kinds of guys at the end of March for 2 or 3 million a year and not give up anything.

because people like the idea of projects while others are looking for the impact now. window is closing. need something now and there's other needs elsewhere to address in the draft. by the logic of drafting a running back after the third round we did that already, with Payne, who's on the roster. I mean we can roll with him? Or we get someone proven to give us 2-3 seasons as 27 isn't 30. JStew at 27 was a beast. Anderson would fit us well considering he'd split time.

    • I don't think Rodgers but probably not for the political reasons I bet a lot of posters are motivated by. I just think he is not the QB for the Panthers, at all.
    • Sun Devils just scored another TD on BYU, 14-0
    • It wasn't great but  the 2022 NYG won 9 of 16 games plus a playoff game. He had a 92.5 passer rating. 15 pass TDs 3200 yards, 7 rushing TD, 700 yards 6 fumbles 3 lost.  His first season he had 18 fumbles lost 11. Wow.  Anyhow he had problems in 2023 with injuries and didn't win poo before tearing his ACL. This year, no Barkley, not good, but you know.... these ACLs take a while and it was right and he throws right so pushes off of it.  I agree it doesn't hurt to let that guy compete cheap. You don't hand him the job like with Bryce or NYG with him.  When I look at what we have been saddled with, he doesn't look worse and has the physical advantage. So I don't get the umbrage given our situation. This "No we won't settle for anything less that the best" attitude and then taking Bryce Young was pathetic and I think that attitude brought us to where we are. That's where that poo gets you. Away from Mayfield, away from Darnold, even away from PJ - just to replace them with an inferior PJ.  At the same time I am not really advocating for the guy just looking at it objectively. It could be another guy with the same story. And yes the odds of him getting it are low but the numbers and performance from 2022 are for sure better than we see with Bryce even after a season of major propping him up with better players around him. Take a look don't take a look he fails or he doesn't fail...   to instead sit here and be happier with what we have is bullshit.
