Where you been Red? I've kinda missed having you around.

I figured a hiatus was in order with both the Panthers, and Hornets in disarray. I don't do the bandwagon thing, so if my teams kinda suck I just step back, and divest some energy from it all.

Congrats on the Super Bowl though. It's good to see someone different win it all for a change. Looks like you guys got yourselves a top notch head coach.

Giants this season could be really good or absolute s--t. I kinda doubt it's anywhere in-between.

Probably all comes down to how Eli does.

probably has a lot to do with who is lined up around him this year.   Injury was a big part as to why they sucked.   Eli isn't a Cam where he can carry a team.  He needs dudes to make plays.

some news reports about players highlighted the reason why they shut down our offense, and these came out in the last few seasons. one of them cited the fact that they knew exactly when we were going to snap the ball the entire game and shula made absolutely no effort to adjust this. there was another report about how a defense had our number and figured out how most of our plays worked and that shutting down our offense was like eating candy. it might have been the falcons.

i personally thought shula did a good job as a QB coach, but when he got promoted to OC he stopped being an asset.

No argument from me there. That's the play calling - not the design of the offensive playbook which is what I am saying I have always heard high praise for from players, analysts and coaches. I agree play calling during the game has been suspect and predictable at times.

I just think the Giants might be a good fit for him with what will be asked (and not asked) from him.

If he is the “OC” and QB coach, and Shurmer is a OC guy, probably means Shula won’t play call and help coach Eli (lol)

The thing that could happen is this could have the effect McDaniels had on McCoy in over-inflating his value and could take any success and parlay it into an HC job.

Honestly a low risk but solid career move for Shula, but he better hope he can take advantage of any opportunities that comes around before he has to call any actual plays and expose himself again.

You have a real problem with people believing somebody other than you, don't you? That really seems to stick in your craw.

Well, sorry dude. I'll take the words of people who are actually involved in the situation over yours. If that pisses you off, I don't honestly care.

You are the one who lives on this site speculates about everything and ridicules folks who don't agree. I don't get pissed off about a message board. Given my.life this board is inconsequential and I just come here to pass time between patients and get news.

Unlike you apparently I know the difference between what people say and what is likely the truth. And yes reading people's behavior and between the lines is what I do for a living. So I don't blindly accept what people say when their actions and common sense dictates otherwise. Lastly it is interesting you only post and speculate what furthers your mindset, it is hardly truth or irrefutable. Sorry if that pissed you off but what you claim as facts are mostly generalizations or speculations with one or two sentence justifications often taken out of context.

ok i actually did some digging and found the article i remember. turns out that it was the broncos, not the falcons that knew exactly what we were going to run.

http://www.stack.com/a/how-did-the-denver-broncos-defense-shut-down-the-carolina-panthers-offense-we-read-them-like-a-book

so it probably was the falcons on the other item about the panthers snapping the ball like clockwork and i just mixed up the reports.

Translation: "Forget about what people actually say and listen to what I tell you they're really saying."

Oh no, that doesn't come off as arrogant at all.

Yeah, that was from the SB which was a disaster. Ironically that same team (believe it was Talib) called Shula a football genius just days before that.
