Sounds like our typical Dwayne Jarrett, Donald Lafell, David Gettis type draftee

Part of our problem is we keep drafting project WRs and we're ignoring the more polished WRs that have mutliple years of consistent production. This year I look at guys in the 2nd/3rd like Anthony Miller, James Washington ,

Double Edged Sword.   All our positions of need, need to be polished.  Rookies have such a learning curve for the NFL and unless you get a Julio Jones type of player you are going to have to deal with that learning curve. Safety, DE, CB, LT and WR our top needs I would rather have a vet but we don't have the cap space to get a VET at each of those positions.

It boils down to which position are you going to fill with a Vet and which ones you are going to rely on a rookie to fill that need.

I think the panthers supposed need to draft a wr is a bit overblown. Curtis Samuel barely played last year. Damiere Byrd came on late last season before getting injured. Kaelin Clay has his moments. The panthers aren’t lacking young talent at WR. What they need is s big bodied vet WR to backup Funchess and a cheap speedster vet like Ted Ginn. Panthers need to get younger at DE and find a replacement for Kalil and Stewart in the draft. Honestly drafting a WR this year would be a waste in my opinion with bigger needs on the horizon.

We've talked about him before and my biggest concern is his frame. Dude has toothpick legs and I'm not sure if he can put on muscle there, you generally have it or you don't.

I'd be concerned he'd snap a leg every time he touched the ball and he has the potential to have quite a few leg injuries much like Darren McFadden did.

I watched some highlights and he does look very breakable.

What we have is one okay starter (Funchess), one completely unproven raw project (Samuel) and then a couple of guys that fit the profile of special teamers/bottom of the roster type WRs. That's the honest truth.

Hell yes we need WR help.

He won't get the attention because his qbs were horrible but IMO DJ Moore is leaps and bounds better than Washington. Runs better routes, better hands, and I think he'll test out to be faster

It'll be interesting to see where he kind of settles in after the combine. The "analysts" are all over the place on him. I've seen him projected pretty much everywhere in the draft from late 1st to the 6th round.

I like his tape, and won't be mad if we spend a 3rd on him.  but the reason that one analyst had him with a 6th round rating was, iirc, scouts had reported they had concerns about his work ethic/laziness.  We'll hear more during the combine.

Yep, if those rumors are true it'll definitely hurt his stock.

Don't want to make a thread about it but another potential steal and safety help could be Su'a Cravens. I'm usually on the side that if you have to question playing football then you don't need to be playing but he didn't want to take as long of a break as the redskins gave him.

By all accounts the relationship between him and redskins front office is one that can't be fix since they didn't like the way he went about leaving the team. So it would be a shock if he's with them entering training camp. I know we were linked to liking Cravens before the draft and many here felt like he was a fit. Cravens is said to be down to 198 pounds molding his body more for a full time career at safety. The redskins wanted him to learn their scheme inside out so as a rookie he was a coverage lb and in year two they wanted him to transition back to safety.

For a 6th/7th round pick I think it's worth a shot, we need help and depth at safety and Cravens provides a potential starter with upside for not much cost.
