All options should always be on the table always. We have an extra 3rd, so if there's a guy slipping who we really like we should be willing to move up a few spots to grab him (#24 + one of our 3rds should be able to get us up into the 18/19 range). On the other hand, if there's no one there that we love at 24 we should field some calls if there's any offers. I would like to stay in the 1st though due to that 5th year option. But yeah, trade down a few spots and pick up say another 3rd? Yeah, I'd definitely do that if the board didn't fall the right way for us.

Exactly this.  The 5th year option is huge in the 1st round... no chance we move totally out of the 1st round.  Wouldn't make any sense

No way I’m trading out of the first and only picking up a third. Our first for the trading team’s second and next year first? Sure. A team with two seconds this year? Probably. A second, third and second next year? Most likely. Not just a third this year. Not worth it. As our buddy gettleman would say, that’s giving up a quarter and getting a dime and a nickel in return.

Have we ever had 2 or more first rounders in franchise history?

Makes you wonder how the Browns keep failing with so much high draft capital year after year

This just not realistic for one the trade value is not even close. EB will probably be a high first early second value after the combine. Trading down a few spots I can see but not out of the first unless someone gives a huge package of picks. Derwin James is huge target for me one of the best safety to come out in a long time when you take everything into consideration, his size and speed and what he brings . on the fence of selling the farm to get him. But if he is out of reach I can see us going with the best TE if the wr is not there value wise. It can go a lot of ways just have to wait and see what we do in free agency.

I believe we had 3 first rounders in 1995 after trading out of the first overall pick.

I think we had 2 around 2008 When we got Stewart and traded up to get otah.

I think those are the only times.

    • Happy Thanksgiving y’all. Thankful for a very good team and for this group to talk canes.  Eat drink celebrate our win bs the rags. This team is cup ready.
    • I don't think should be seen as an insult, legitimately. Teddy's floor was consistently a good game manager to his ceiling of border-line top 10 QB who's arm strength didn't blow you away but could make all the throws and generally made good decisions and had some sneaky athleticism.  Teddy started on quite a few teams. He had a good start to his career, had a horrific injury that could have ended his career, came back and played himself into being a starter, got a contract here (and subsequently became another victim of Tepper's impetuousness), and then started games for a few other teams. Teddy could have been a franchise QB had he not suffered a freak injury, and then he just never ended up in another stable situation. He still had a good NFL career that could have been great without that injury. Teddy before that injury did look like a franchise QB, and I dont think that's a bad comp for Young nor an insult in terms of what his career could be based on that comparison.
    • Absolutely the wrong take. We have to run and gun. We have zero post presence. We just have to make shots. We just can't hit water from a boat tonight and we're turning it over to boot. Then you have a poor shooting opponent shooting lights out.  Looks like a long season ahead of us though if Hubert doesn't adapt to this roster. We have to play a pressure trapping D and get out in transition because we aren't beating anyone in the half court.
