Will CMC come back heavier/stronger for 2018 season?

that long run against the Jets still makes me wince. he gave up an easy TD to cut back inside for no reason and got tackled. he did that a lot. hope someone teaches him.

Yeah there was several situations where he needed to trust his speed and take what was available. The most encouraging sign of the season was his touchdown in the playoffs. That is what we need.

As far as breaking tackles, I think he could learn some things from Steve Smith tape. You don't need to be bigger and stronger to elude a tackle. Sometimes just get small and low and keep moving.

That was debunked as the right move in that situation. Would not have gotten a TD cutting the other way.

All about leverage & positioning

Maybe 5-10 lbs but he really  needs more conditioning than mass.

CMC needs to keep doing him, Panthers will get a real power runner to take the load off Cam & him.

If they take Chubb, it will be because all the other more versatile backs are long gone. Barkley,  Michel,  Freeman,  and Guice will likely go before Chubb. He may provide power, which may be a good complement to what we have, but he's rather one dimensional in my opinion.

And honestly, that's fine. He provides the one dimension we need most to pair with CMC and his relative limitations should push him down the board. I sure as hell don't want to take a RB in the 1st or 2nd. The 3rd should be the earliest we look to add another RB and Chubb would start to look attractive with one of our 3rds.

As for CMC,  he can run between the tackles,  but he isn't a power runner (and 10 pounds ain't going to magically turn him into one). He is deadly in space,  so we need to get him in space.  Listen to Norv Turner's interview with Voth,  he said the same thing in so many words.

I kind of agree, but I'd have to look at other options as well (and I'm a Georgia guy).  I can tell you this,  if Sony Michel is there in the second,  I would strongly consider taking him,  because he has first round potential.

I am a believer in taking the clear-cut BPA in the first, and if that was a Michel,  I'd take Michel.  I just can't justify in my mind right now taking two running backs in the first round two years straight. And,  I have a hard time thinking that out of all the talent available that an RB would be the clear-cut BPA, but I will reserve judgement until after the Combine and workouts, and especially draft night (where crazy things can happen).

No. Cmc is not getting any bigger. He has peaked already for his frame. He is human. Plus his genetics are limited.

LOL! Tons of guys have added considerable muscle mass and/or strength after coming into the NFL. I don't like the idea of CMC carrying 220, but you don't necessarily have to add a lot of bulk to gain considerable strength.

Please no to a RB in the 1st. Please god no. I'm tired of us stockpiling 1st round picks at positions where they're going to be in a reserve role or splitting time. 1st round picks are your best opportunity to add impact talent for relative pennies in cap space. When you have those guys buried on the depth chart you're missing prime opportunities to get the best bang for the buck in the NFL.

I'm not a "draft purely for need" guy but I absolutely think that need has to play into the draft equation. I really hope there is a WR, DB, or DE worthy of the pick at #24.

Might be.  I'm really interested in the edge rushers.  Don't forget about DT and OT, though.  It would seem like Mike McGlinchey and Vita Vea would be in play if they're still on the board, and they really could be.

Unfortunately, this looks like one of the weakest 4-3 DE classes in recent memory. The draft looks chock full of 3-4 OLBs but guys who fit a traditional 4-3 scheme? Thin as can be.

I'd be disappointed in a DT in the 1st. We already have a top paid three technique an another 1st round pick three technique as well. That's your money 4-3 DT spot. You can find a space eating NT in later rounds plus we already have a decent stop gap in Love.

I just don't like McGlinchey as an NFL LT and we already have a very good RT in Williams. I'd love to know what the staff has planned for Moton. Depending on how they view him, OT could be a big need or we may just be looking for depth in the later rounds. If we think he may be our future LT we might be pretty well set at OT.
