Will CMC come back heavier/stronger for 2018 season?

I'm kinda curious to what most people think on here. He averaged over 4 yards per carry the 2nd half of the season so I'm expecting his running ability to improve to some degree . But I've always been thinking that even at the very end of the season he is still dearly missing the power element to his game.

I mean, he doesn't have to be as strong as an ox or anything like Stewart is. But even if you are a lighter/speed back it still helps massively if you can bounce off or shrug off weak tackles which is something I never saw CMC do in an entire seasons worth of work.

He weighed in at 205 to start the season but no idea where he is now. I'm hoping he could get up around 218 or 220 would help him quite a bit, but I wonder if he just wants to stay at the super light weight. Hes been running with an ultra elusive style and a WR like body for forever, I think he should have plenty of incentive to try to change but who really knows if it'll happen.

I also wonder where he'll be in the RB hierarchy once the new season starts, especially if we get rid of Stew. I'm very very curious to see how he would do with a heavier workload (20- 25 carries) because he maxed out at like 15 carries last year and only had 10 or more carries in 3 measly contests.

Its undeniable what he contributed as a slot WR was very valuable , I'm just wondering if he'll become a good RB or not.

I think 220 is too heavy for his frame and playing style. 210ish seems about right to me.

He could be near 210 now .. he started at 205 at the very start of the season.

I say at least 215 is the magic number . Kamara/Hunt were 216-218 last season

Yeah but those guys can actually put their head down and fight for yardage while CMC is basically a poor man's Chris Johnson who goes down quick unless he makes a move.

that long run against the Jets still makes me wince. he gave up an easy TD to cut back inside for no reason and got tackled. he did that a lot. hope someone teaches him.

Hopefully a year in the NFL has shown him that he can't always cutback to get additional yardage. He could in college, but the guys in the NFL are simply better, faster, and more disciplined. Sometimes you just have to stay the course and get everything you can get. His issue was that he was ALWAYS looking for the cutback and defenders knew it and were waiting for it. If he mixes it up and doesn't look for it so often he'll find it available more often.

He probably lost weight throughout the season. A lot of players do. It's hard for a lot of guys to maintain weight during the season.

He's never going to be a bell cow running back. Hopefully Norv will utilize him in the passing game with a few runs thrown in to keep defenses honest. Let's not try to make him something he's not.

A lot of people tried to say the same about guys like Tiki Barber and Warrick Dunn. CMC is basically the same size as Barber and quite a bit bigger than Dunn.
