Marty Hurney will meet with league on Friday

Panthers interim general manger Marty Hurney, on paid administrative leave while the NFL investigates a claim of harassment by his ex-wife, will meet with the league on Friday. Former New York City prosecutor Lisa Friel, who handles such issues for the league, has been assigned the case. Hurney's ex-wife has withdrawn the complaint, but the league still is conducting its own investigation. Hurney is one of four candidates being considered for the fulltime GM job.

Seriously the league needs to fast track this. Considering the allegations, the situation and the relationship this should be easy to figure out. We need a GM now him or someone else. The quicker they wrap this up the faster we get a GM.

The league only has to wrap this up quickly if you want to hire Hurney.

His being under investigation doesn't stop the Panthers from naming somebody else the GM.

Correct but let's all be honest, They're going to hire Hurney if they can get away with it. So for the Panthers sake and having a good draft, hopefully this is quick.

I wonder if this meeting has anything to do with the hire.  

What if the league speaks with him and believes that the EX is only causing fake news issues and drop the case and he is made permanent GM contrary to what Jason C. reported.

I fully expect that to happen because LaCanfra is a hack. The moment he said we were getting an outside GM it was set in stone it would be Hurney.
