That's an individual judgment, but to be clear hackers don't necessarily make "millions" and it's not like you'd need some super hacker in this case anyway.  We're not talking about hacking into the IRS database, just an average citizen's phone and laptop,  College kids in their mom's basement can do that.

No idea if it's true, but it's very possible.

It just sounds a little too fabricated in my opinion.

I'm sure some of the complaints are factual but the timing is very suspect.

If you wrote a book about this franchise you would have to put in the fiction section because nobody would believe the poo that has happened to this franchise.

I admit I laughed so fuging hard when I read this on the NFL page.  As much as I despise Hurney as a GM I wouldn't wish the fallout from this if it's not true.  But if it is then prayers do come true.  Just get his ass out of here and find a real GM for goodness sake and quit fuging around!

the timing of this stuff is uncanny

it’s like even the universe is like “omg not this fuging guy again”. the panthers have been so horrible with hurney in the past that they have to be as good in the future to keep the universe in balance, and they can’t do that if hurney is GM. fate is real. i am a believer now.

What happens if he's fired though?

Who would be calling the shots this off-season? Who would make the draft day decisions and finding players in free agency? I can't imagine this won't hurt the Panthers this year if he's fired. It might also mean that the front office will pick Hurney's replacement too soon, meaning picking through the scraps that other teams have left.

I was hoping the Panthers would go into this year having an inordinate amount of time to vet the next general manager. Maybe they would have certainly found the right person for the job this time around. Though now it might mean they'll instead have to choose a candidate by default.

Guys and Gals...I hate to say this but in the past  we've taken a great deal of pleasure mocking other franchises as dumpster fires. I hate to admit it...but it looks like we are the dumpster fire, we are the organization owned and run by clowns, we are the laughing stock of the league. Fug' em all!

He'll be back before the draft, meanwhile the Panthers GM search is now on hold.

I wouldn't guarantee that.

It's not like Marty had the greatest resume' to begin with, and prospective new owners might not appreciate the team hiring a GM with a harassment charge in the news after the previous owner was booted for similar issues.  Even if he's not charged, the story is out there in the public consciousness.

I think this could easily be more like a Rick Smith type situation where Marty takes a long paid vacation and the team moves on without him.

Great post--Rivera + the Director of Scouting , i assume would lead the draft
