People have turned Gettleman vs Hurney into politics. Gettleman was their guy, and when he was fired they lashed out, and still do. Using Hurney as some argument as to give Gettleman's failures a pass.

Not true. Wish we still had Gman....but I'm rooting for Hurney here.

Really? Ok....I'll stick with the horse's mouth on this one though my man.

You obviously don't understand NC employment law...and if anyone you are talking to is saying anything different, they don't either.

The Panthers' front office may show so signs of incompetence, but I seriously doubt their legal team doesn't know the consequences involved.

Yeah, but y'all know this is more about PR than law at this point.  I do not see how they can keep him because you would have to enter a contract with an accused man.  There will always be those who wonder if she was not scared or paid off.

I used the term "wrongful termination-ish" because, yes, I don't know what the exact suit would be. It wasn't meant to be a literal legal term.

Good lord. This is why I don't post info in the main forum anymore.

Understood, but I'd definitely want to know how they'd answer those questions.

If the job is indeed "interim" that does tag it as temporary by nature, and stoppable at any time.

Likewise, how do you prove beyond a shadow of a doubt to a judge that you should have gotten a job over somebody else? That is by nature the judgement call of an employer.

And yeah, if an agreement was made prior to the interviews, that does indeed show an intent to violate the  Rooney Rule. Not a good look for a team whose owner has been accused of racism.

Almost sounds like someone's making excuses (not you, Riot; just to be clear).

Like I said, I wonder how they would respond.

You know how well this organization does with excuses.  I can't wait to hear this one.

Better question might be:  How does Marty Hurney prove to a judge that he should have gotten the job over anybody else?
