I have to wonder if the blow hards they have as announcers aren't part of the reason NFL viewership is down - I get sick of listening to these same asshats year after year.

NFL viewership is down because the league relies on antiquated television ratings system that do not capture streaming (Hulu, Fobu, Netflix, Roku, SLing, etc.) The only medium being counted are those people watching on a standard network cable or satellite broadcast.

I got so tired of his antics last night.  Collinsworth was making a complete ass of himself.  Now, I could see a case for the first controversial TD where the ball did move just a little before his foot hit the end line, but the Ertz score was a TD all the way.  No question, no controversy, no argument.  All Chris did was show that he had a big boner for the Patriots.

Yeah he was horrible yesterday. He's usually pretty bad, but he upped the bar last night. Al Michaels is pretty bad too. His play by play is fine but whenever he tries to put his input in he just sounds moronic most of the time.

Cant believe hundreds of millions of people were stuck listening to them broadcast the biggest sporting event in America.

This^

I honestly have no idea how he keeps landing big games to be a commentator on, he's horrible.

It was embarrassing how much he didnt want Ertz TD to be a TD...How is that even close to not being a catch??

If he doesn't take one of the three steps, it wouldn't be a catch considering the ground caused the ball to come free from his hands, effectively making it a dead ball. But he took three steps so it was a catch and almost a fumble.

I had a some doubt on the Clement catch when viewed in live time. But, after seeing the replay, the left foot came down as soon as he caught the ball and then he got the right one down. After that the left foot did hit out on the line at the back of the end zone, but he had already got both feet down so it didn't matter. After that Collinsworth (and Michaels) continued to argue after the fact that he didn't have possession when the left foot hit the 2nd time. I'm just glad this game wasn't played in Gillette stadium. We all know how that  call would've turned out.

The rule is 2 steps and a football maneuver. He would have had to not take 2 of the steps he took (which would have meant he didn't cross the goal line anyways because he started from 5 yards away)

I thought he said "I can't wait until they change this rule." I think with both controversial TD's Collisworth was venting his frustration with the 'catch' rule.

He did say "I can't wait until they overturn this" but I believe his intention was as you said.  He was basically saying "I can't wait until they overturn this and all heck breaks loose because of this silly rule."  As for the calls, I personally felt like the first TD wasn't a catch based on the rules as they are now because of the ball moving around in the receiver's hands but the Ertz one was a catch and TD.
