Imagine Drafting A WR 9th Overall, Giving Him Almost Zero Targets All Year, Then Try To Convert Him To Cornerback

this team doesn't need that at all. We have several very fast receivers.

Yep Byrd, Clay, and Samuel are all fast. What we need are some fast guys that are also skilled NFL WRs. Hoping to see Samuel make some real leaps and bounds after a full NFL offseason.

Imagine trading a first second round pick for a late third round pick and taking a QB from a small school and converting him to a WR/PR

yea we're one of the last teams who should be making fun of other organizations for draft time bungles

He was making massive progress right before he got injured. Cam was feeding him more and  his catches were getting more consistent. He was making really tough grabs with dudes draped all over him and waiting to pop him too. His speed and elusiveness were undeniable in the few touches that he got, especially on the end arounds that he criminally got so few of.

We’d likely be looking at a Superbowl if Samuel’s hands were consistent.

Not only would he have avoided injury if he caught that endzone gimme TD, he would’ve helped propel us to at least the NFC Championship with how Cam was playing. Not to mention we’d have won against Atlanta with someone their defense can’t just lock up and had home field advantage.

The What Ifs of this season. I do think Samuel being healthy was literally the determining factor between Superbowl or bust. He clearly changed our dynamic on offense and added a whole new wrinkle defenses found hard to stop.

The only thing in between Samuel and success imo is catching with his hands. I underplayed the issue of his constant body catching from his college days, but looks like it’s a bigger issue than I realized. Hope that gets worked out over the offseason cause he seriously has talent.

Byrd and Samuel flashed but staying healthy is the biggest problem. Hopefully with a real OC those problems can be less of a concern. Shula just put WRs in a bad position a bunch of times.

Wow. Can you say BUST? LOL @ all the Huddlers who were just dying to take this guy and his busted as knees #8 overall just because he ran the fastest 40 time ever (despite the fact that simulcasts of his and Chris Johnson's runs clearly showed Johnson finishing ahead).

I wouldn't go there quite yet to be honest. He could still have a really good career because he is young and will only be going into year 2.

Way to early to lol or call anyone a bust... in fact, this sounds a lot like ted ginn to me..

I find it hilarious some huddlers defend cmc from the same bust criticism but want to label Ross a bust, it’s wayyyyy to early for that to be said about either.

bengals are idiots, you’re trying to switch a guys position after his rookie season, this is the definition of poor coaching staff

Call me crazy but aren't good hands fairly important to be a good WR?

Samuel will need a lot of time...as you said...but teaching good hands is tough.

Ross is not man enough to play in the NFL.  Soft and hurt constantly even in college.  You could see this coming.

NO, sorry, there is no comparison between the seasons of McCaffery and Ross.

McCaffery as a rookie was one of the best receiving RB'S in the NFL.

Ross could not get on the field.

Ross shot into public consciousness after breaking the NFL combine 40 yard dash time.

But if you look at the top 20 40 times in NFL combine history, a curious fact emerges:

Only a handful of these speed demons became good NFL football players.

Track speed in football is vastly overrated.

You’re getting off track, not comparing their seasons, I comparing how early on people were saying cmc is a bust, which is stupid, along with calling Ross a bust. Clearly mismanaged by the coaching staff in cincy
