Did Cam have input into coaching changes

Listened to an interview with Aaron Rodgers on Golic n Wingo and it sounds like Aaron is pretty pissed that he wasn’t involved in the process of finding a new qb coach. Didn’t seem too thrilled about the changes in general.

So I was just wondering if Cam was asked about his thoughts on finding a new OC and qb coach or if he was left out of the process completely.

No, he was left out of the process completely as Rivera said, and as it should be, just like it was for Rodgers.

What would it mean if Cam wanted input?

Would it mean that he wanted a coach that could help him be better?  Unpack this beyond just the opening salvo

Cam is not qualified to make that hire and neither is Rodgers. How they ‘feel’ and bias towards a coach has nothing to do about how that coach will improve their shortcomings...quite the contrary. I believe this especially holds true to Cam.

Rivera's presser where he announced that Shula and Dorsey had been fired left me with the impression that Newton wasn't happy about it. And his description of the process of coming to that decision made it clear that he did it alone.

This, the NFL isn’t the NBA and that’s a good thing. Having a bunch of egomaniacs running how your team is run is a bad thing.

Luke Kuechly had no input on the hiring of a new defensive coordinator or his linebacker coach, nor should he.

I'm not a fan of consulting players.

And this to me, is a good thing. A coach to a player is almost like a guiding parent. When parents try to be best friends with their kid instead of guiding them poo goes downhill. Cam needs to be held accountable and have expectations I really don’t think Shula/Dorsey gave him.

Yeah, it's ridiculous how many NBA coaches are basically just figureheads and clipboard holders who know they can be fired in an instant at the whim of their star player. That is not a healthy environment.

qb coach spends 1 on 1 time with cam, while the DC doesn't.

Aaron Rodgers is probably the best quarterback in the NFC at least. And I wouldn't consult him either.

LB coach spends 1 on 1 time with Luke... It's no different at all, and no matter who the player is and what coaching positions they are, the players should not be consulted.
