Talking about building on the foundation of names like Thomas Davis and Julius Peppers?

Not really he just threw out 4 names of great players here and TD and Pep were among the 4 names. Wouldn't read into it much...

I would not be mad. Seems like a great candidate. Building through the draft requires spotting talent though. That's not always easy but it is easier to manage the cap that way. But let's be realistic, half the huddle will complain no matter who it is. :)

Yes but a solid 95% will complain if it's Hurney

he is no Marty Hurney.

Hurney would have said,  "Well, you gotta lock down your core by giving them ridiculous contracts that extend into their early 50s.

FIRST ROUND: You then draft safe in the first round--a RB or LB for the most part, but don't forget we need to use those first rounders to save my job by trading next year's pick for this year's bust.  Otah, Ev. brown?--we're dealin!

SECOND ROUND: in the second, you turn your draft board into  a dart board and see who you hit. It ain't rocket science. Who can forget names like Jimmy Clausen, Sherrod Martin, Everette Brown, Bruce Nelson, Dwayne Jarrett, Eric Shelton, Amini Silatolu and Keary Colbert?  Everyone?

THIRD ROUND:   After that, I think it is the third round, where you draft players like Armanti Edwards and convert hm to a different position he has never played. Or you take values like Atyyia Ellison,  Rashad Butler, James Anderson, Corvey Irvin, Terrell McClain, Sione Fua.  I own the third, Chumps!

Any questions?  (Drop mic)."

Seriously, this is how much Hurney sucks.

The GM selection will answer a lot of questions and I would bet my left testicle it's Hurney.

Can't help get the feeling this is all a tease and Hurney is it.   Worst part is, we let the big one get away.  Someone else will hire him and we get stuck with the same lousy BS that we have endured for the most part of the last 20  years.

    • Honestly Bryce is a conundrum right now I'm not really sure what we should do with him but I am content on him being the quarterback number one going into next season. I think we should allow him the chance to play out the season to prove that he's the quarterback he can be going into next season.  I would not waste a high draft pick on a quarterback because I'm not sure anyone in this up and coming class is as good or has the ceiling that he had with that said I wouldn't throw away the future I would bring in someone like Justin Fields to have him looking over his shoulder and give us a plan b if everything doesn't go right on a one-year deal. I think the priority right now if tepper wants to make a big splash is find a way to get Travis Hunter that would be option 1AA because he helps with both sides of the field either way whatever you need defense or offense. Make that happen and then go mostly defense the rest of the way and we're cooking.
    • Move on from what?   Let me guess we gatekeeping on who we can and can't appreciate?   Next time I will just make a Kuechly appreciation thread lmao
