Diggs publically calls out Beason ...

you know there's probably a very good likelihood that Beason quietly discussed Peppers' play in house prior to going public and Peppers just ignored him and continued his poor play.

You call that getting ripped? I saw no such thing in that article.

ripped, AKA criticized.

I don't disagree CRA...but I still think that stuff is better kept in house.

I agree. Eventually, someone has to shut the reporters up though who won't stop digging. Now maybe Beason won't have to run off and reporters will let it be.

I actually played D-I football and was a multiple sport athlete in high school. Though I didn't play professionally, there are some things done on the collegiate and high school level that carry over to the pros. During my experience, there were PLENTY of players and coaches to call out other players and coaches IN THE LOCKER ROOM and even physical confrontation to ensue from this, but the one thing that you don't do is call them out in the newspaper or any other media outlet. You settle issues like this in house, but once you leave the locker room or go out on the field, you stand a united front.

Why do you think T.O. is viewed as a cancer whereever he's gone and disrupted locker room on every team he's played for?? Because he's called out his teammates in the media and the fact of the matter is that T.O. in most instances was telling the truth and was a good player, but he crossed the line when he would call out teammates and coaches to the media.

That's nice except Beason never called Peppers out. Wow, talk about the Charlotte media blowing everything out of proportion.

He DID talk about him in public. It was all over the media. Beason has even admitted he was wrong about it.

What you may be confused about is the part where he said he didn't talk with Peppers.

But called out in the media?

Definately !!!!

That's bullsh*t and I'm glad Beason said something. Beason shouldn't have to be quiet if he is playing his ass off, while arguably the most talented guy in the room is getting a pass from the rest of the team week after week.

This is the culture of John Fox and I am CONVINCED that he has completely lost this team. He probably lost this team whenever Kris Jenkins forced a trade (where we got WAY less than his equal value).

Did you listen to the interview? Beason was hardly calling out Peppers. The only reason Beason apologized is because the whole thing was blown out of proportion.

I think this thread started by saying Diggs "called out" Beason for going public - a bit of an overstatement, something you might expect to see in a tabloid. What Diggs said, in so many words, is that Beason is still pretty young and got overly excited in a live radio interview [could happen to anyone who not very experienced in that kind of thing] and that he should have kept that kind of talk in the locker room. And I agree. Diggs further stated that Beason will learn from this [and apparently he has], that no one questions Beason's commitment or loyalty and that it did not upset the anything in the locker room. Probably true.

I take issue with yr stupid remark that Fox "has completely lost this team". Foxxy ain't lost nothing.

We have enough talent on this team, they just haven't all performed to their potential - yet.

Perhaps that's because of the coaching. Or lack-there-of..

I really don't think calling him out privately would have had nearly the same effect. He put Peppers on the spot for everyone to see and put him in a situation where he HAD to perform. I'm sure Beason had no intentions of it getting this blown out of proportion but it could have a better effect because of it. This will probably not go away anytime soon because hack journalists are going to milk this for all its worth. So hopefully Peppers continues to feel pressure from this and continues to perform instead of just going through the motions. I guess we'll see.
