Any other year I’d agree but this year the qb market is plentiful of options, all 3 of minny’s Qb, cousins, etc

who's etc? cause the 4 guys you named are the only ones really worth going after and even then, teddy and bradford are huge question marks due to their knee's and Kenum is quite literally the definition of mediocre... Hey DA will be available!

To clarify, this is an agreement only, and as such can be backed out of or nullified.  Actual trading can't be done right now.

Pretty unusual to hear of stuff like that before free agency actually starts.  Most teams keep these things quiet.

Makes me wonder if someone's trying to drum up interest (like the Skins looking for a buyer for Cousins).

Seems like he's been in that situation for most of his career.

Good observation.

But if you think Smith has had some misfortune in his career, just look at the career of Steve Deberg

I believe he started his career in Dallas in the mid 70s on the practice squad while Roger Staubach was playing but was ultimately released.  He ends up in San Francisco with Bill Walsh when he takes over the team in  1979. He plays ok but loses his job to a 3rd round pick named Joe Montana.

He moves on to Denver and starts a few games for Dan Reeves but is ultimately replaced by  some guy named John Elway.

His next move leads him to Tampa Bay where he sees Steve Young and Vinne Testerverde brought in to compete for his job.

The Bucs trade him to KC and he leads them to the playoffs twice during the 4 years he's there.

Deberg lasted over 17 years in the NFL but everywhere he went he was behind a more talented player or had some young upstart nipping at his heels.

Etc means teams like the giants if they grab a qb, Eli may become available, Bortles may be available depending on what the jags do in fa, just more options than usually. And even with Bradford and teddy’s Injury, when healthy both are pretty good qbs, and case teams are gonna still take a gamble after his year with the vikes. Tyrod also may be available at some point, that’s more than your average available or possibility avavliable qbs
