GOAT- Brady vs Jordan

Heard Steve Smith talking about this on NFLN and he said Jordan. Personally I don’t think it’s even close... Jordan no question. Jordan put teams on his back and carried them to wins and multiple championships. He played offense AND defense and played both at a high level.

What say you guys

Football is a team sport. The best team always win. Dan Mario was a great QB but had a bad team. NBA is an individualizes Game where the best player always win. It’s hard to tell how good Brady will be if we played for the browns. But Jordan will be Great even if he played for the Bobcats or Hornets. I say Jordan

This. It's pretty much impossible to compare football vs. basketball. Brady is a phenomenal QB, but athlete? He's probably one of the poorest athletes in the NFL.

Jordan never lost a finals. Brady has.

That’s not a fair comparison AT ALL...and I’m not a Brady fan. Jordan played a sport where the finals is decided in a best of 7 series. He, a teammate, or the team as a whole could have an off game or even lose 2 or 3 of them and still win a series. In football, the playoffs are one and done. You can’t afford to have an off game at the QB position in a championship game without pretty much insuring  a season ending loss.

Baseball, Hockey, and Basketball finals (and their entire playoffs for that matter) are set up in a manner that usually results in the best team winning the series. That’s not always the case in the NFL.  We’ve all seen SB’s where the best team lost by a lucky break for the other team or were simply upset proving the old saying “On any given Sunday...”. Heck, sometimes the best team(s) don’t even make it to the world championship game.

Jordan’s six rings isn’t even that unique in the NBA. Kareem also has 6 rings. I think Bill Russell has 11. Kobe, Magic, and Tim Duncan each have 5. Lebron could still tie or pass that mark. If Brady wins #6 he’ll be two ahead of his next closest competitors (Bradshaw and Montana). No one on this board ever dreamed  we’d see a QB possibly retire with 6 rings...and possibly even more.
