Breaking: Blake Griffin to the Detroit Pistons, DeAndre Jordan & Lou Williams up for grabs, trade frenzy initiated

Hornets are one of the least desirable teams in the league right now and no one is taking Batum's terrible contract.

We should expect nothing interesting from our end.

Meanwhile, LA is clearly blowing it up.  This is basically Tobias Harris and a low end lottery pick for Blake Griffin.  The rest are expiring contracts.

Clippers can lose every game the rest of the way and probably wont secure a top 5 pick unless they get help from the lottery fairy. So they are gonna either try to move Jordan and Williams now for peanuts and are gonna end up with multiple first rounders but not good enough to land a franchise player.

They are in no better spot than with Griffin well minus his huge contract of course.

The Detroit 1st is top-4 protected I believe so they can't get a high lottery no matter what from that one but they'll likely have 1 lottery at the least now.

Seems like a fairly even trade value wise.  Can't pick a clear winner, but I'm leaning towards LAC.  Still, shocking, as they've been dangling it out that for years and never did it.

How do you think Blake feels?  Lol, go from LA to Detroit...  bye bye Kia commercials and movie star lifestyle lol.

Also, RE:Davos last tweet...  IIRC, weren't we rumored to have offered a deal to Lou Williams a couple years ago?

There's blowing up and there's what the Clippers are doing right meow.  Hold on to your butts.

Dream scenario: 3 team deal that somehow nets us that Nets pick + Lou? We'll likely stay comfortably slightly below mediocre.

This trade has me in the small browser F5ing at work lol

I can't remember, I feel Lou Williams has perpetually been in trade talks with all of his squads.  He needs to find a place to cement himself for a bit, he could be a good piece to the puzzle somewhere.

    • his height, size and arm will forever cause problems and limitations...that is what it is.  I think to a degree, the law of averages is just coming into play a bit with him.  So as he plays more and more, you just flat out get the decent days mixed in too.  Which is just going to happen.
    • Good point. He's definitely better in 10-15 yards. I think that's his biggest improvement. But he wasn't 3-10 +15, he was 3-7, with at least one drop (minor but still). And with multiple passes at 14 yards completed. This passing chart doesn't look like at By one, lol. He threw more "deep" passes than Mahomes (NOT comparing him to Mahomes in a skill way lol), or at least more beyind 10 yards.
    • Karlaftis and Danna have been pretty inconsistent so teams have been doubling Jones and able to contain their pass rush.   But the good thing is that yesterday, we schemed well against Steve Spags Defense, Canales married the surrounding personnel with his QB through play designs within his comfort zone and was able to get downfield at will.  He was able to execute higher difficulty throws and look a lot more comfortable.  It tells me that Canales has a good system in mind, and had an edge gameplanning wise against Spagnuolo - which is nice to see.  It's a bit to see-saw at times with either going way too pass heavy or way too run heavy, but I think he's finding out what works.  It takes time to have it come together, and sure, I could see regression happen against a better front-7, but this was good for the entire system gelling.
