We will tag one. Norwell is my guess.

Maybe or maybe not.

The first year cap hit of a long term deal is usually a lot cheaper than a tag number.  If you are looking to add multiple free agents a long term deal would leave more available for this year.

Does Hurney spend big time to try and win now to save his and RR job.  With new ownership coming in I would view this year as a one year audition.

or

Does the ownership go cheap?  No reason to have large cash spending before sale.  Singing bonuses are often paid upfront.

There is no maybe. 90% chance Norwell gets a deal. 10% chance we tag him. Anything else is just absurd.

I don’t see the point in being cheap right now. We are at a point where we have repeatedly shown how far Cam can go with a limited supporting cast. Why not bite the bullet and get him the weapons he needs to win the SB? What’s the point in being cheap with the cap if you aren’t winning and wasting your window of success. The point of the game is to win not to be cheap.
