Norwell is gone. He will net us a third round compensatory pick, but no way we are paying two guards top five money.

With the money we're likely to save...wonder if the Colts would still be willing to shop a guy like TY Hilton.  Could easily absorb his contract for the next couple seasons, and might could get him for what, a 3rd? Use the Bills pick, essentially a KB for Hilton swap.

I'd be down for that. Although we would probably have to give up our 2nd rounder for him.

We pretty much have to let both walk due to Kalil's contract. If we resign Norwell which would make more sense than Star, you can say goodbye to signing any top tier play makers.

if you really want to play the comp pick game you let both Norwell and Star go and then don’t sign any UFAs.  You wait to see who all is cut.

I’m happy for norwell even if he doesn’t sign here. I’d love to keep him, and I think he should be a big priority if not the biggest but damn an UFA is gonna be one of the highest paid guards in the league. That’s amazing on a personal level. Good for him.

Two 3rd round compensatories and an extra 15-20 mill in cap space would not be the end of the world.

Still, I'd like to retain Norwell.
