Called this a month ago for January 25. Let's hope Charlotte or Carolinas in general get a team. Vince is making the announcement today at 3. The NFL is poo and is rigged, but at least these guys will wanna hit and play actual football. Players may actually get sick of the politics involved in the NFL and make the jump. Are you interested?

that's the exact argument they used for the first XFL. then everyone instantly got seriously injured.

Why didn’t Vince put a team in NC the first time then if it could be soooo good for NC?

I don't know.  I don't know that he is going to put a team in NC this go-round, either.  I'm just saying it would be a great thing for NC, wherever he puts it.  (If he decides to.)  It would make sense, given that we have 3 professional sports franchises... we've proven as a state that we can support a team.  But the fact that he "is a HUGE Trump supporter" is irrelevant to this conversation.

If Vince McMahon wants to succeed a 2nd time around, and have a good quality product, target the NCAA talent more than the NFL scrubs. Sure get some players like Manziel and The Golden Calf of Bristol, but it won't be able to last if it tries to compete head to head with the NFL. Instead, become a semi-professional league that settles as a nice niche between NCAA Football and the NFL.

If he decides to go streaming with the content, television won't be an issue. He could be trying to directly refute the "outdated" business model of huge TV contracts like all the other major sports and instead try to take it streaming and create different revenue streams. Could be interesting how he plans on doing all this.

Wasn't it NBC and UPN that wanted it to end? McMahon wanted to continue the league after one season.

I have no idea. I barely remember the games. But it wouldn't surprise me. And back then, without the tv network you didn't have a product. That's no longer the case with Amazon, Netflix and others. So maybe he partners with one of those or he creates his own...not sure but it would be different. Not sure it would work as a business model but it could. As for the content, I have no idea and I expect it to be a clown show. But who knows? I don't watch wrestling so I'm not a core fan in his base.
