Not a very "adult" thing to do, talking bad about former employees. Especially since there was no need to do so, seeing as he wasnt tied to McAdoo.  All he ever neede to say about the former coach is that he felt the team needed to go in a different direction.  This is another example of his unprofessionalism.

It's kind of vintage Gettleman. His way is always the only way,  or at least the best way. So smug... And yet people don't want me to talk poo about him---which I'm really not,  just calling it as I see it.

nj.com is pretty sensationalist. they make these clickbaity titles all the time. once you read the article though, and you look at the direct quotes, it says nothing about mcadoo specifically. he just says he prefers that his head coaches have more experience and are level headed, instead of going for the young turks.

So far, I have to admit I'm pleasantly surprised. I'm still distrustful, mainly due to boneheaded decisions in training camp and Hurney's history. But the trade of Benjamin and the firing of Shula have given me hope that maybe perhaps Hurney has learned a few things. The real test will come in free agency and the draft. If Hurney can direct just one successful off-season, then the 2018 Panthers could be the first to have a consecutive winning season and could perhaps challenge for the Super Bowl. If Hurney does old Hurney things, this team is gonna spin out of control like a top that's lost momentum
