Who here remember all the times we heard about how Jonathan Stewart and Deangelo Williams weren't worth first rounders?

But there are people touting our "change of pace" running back at 8th overall?

Well that's interesting.

No one is touting anyone.

D+ race baiting effort though

Where was race mentioned?

Good look there aimlessly parroting the generic heel31ok and Dr quest tinderbox posters.

ok so it was a hurney vs gettleman thing you were alluding too, I'll buy that.

Still, if you think CMC was drafted to anchor the running game, you don't know much about football.

All everyone did here was fap 24/7 to his highlight tape of running between tackles and training camp stories of him zooming by our LB corps untouched at the speed of sound.

If he wasn't drafted to take the reigns from old and washed up Jonathan Stewart, that's certainly news to me.

Did any fan here have any input on him being drafted? No? Ok so why do you care what people here said?

You know very well he was drafted to back up Stewart this season and catch passes.

I can only speak for myself, but the reason I jumped fully onboard with the pick was because not only was Fournette off the board but because of CMC's burst and keen ability to make people miss in space as a runner first and foremost. That was almost the entirety of his college tape. If you want to suddenly develop amnesia that's up to you man.

So you're dodging the point. He wasn't drafted to anchor the running game. Read Gettleman and Rivera's comments after he was drafted. Not what some idiot fans on this message board said, or your own expectations.

and btw, he was the best offensive player on the board at eighth. I bet you would have had a hissy fit if Gettleman went defense there lol

People left and right argued how he was almost identical to LeSean McCoy in terms of height and weight as a means of validating his ability to be a first option RB.

Defense like.... say...Lattimore while we had one of the worst secondaries in the NFL?

If you're really arguing we didn't draft him to eventually replace "old and overpaid" Stewart, I don't think we have anything left to talk about.

You don't draft an RB 8th overall and then turn around and start talking about who you're going to acquire to split carries with him.
