Adam Schefter thinks we SHOULD, not will, trade for Brady Quinn.

You and I agree on that. I wish they had taken Aaron Rodgers, but they didn't. I think Matt Flynn would have been a good pick, he beat out Brian Brohm in Green Bay and could become a solid starter if Rodgers doesn't pan out.

There are a lot of quarterbacks coming out this year, and I hope they finally take a chance on one. I think they will too, just because for the first time since they got Jake circumstances warrant it.

we would be set with Rodgers. He gets shafted because his o-line is garbage. Green Bay spent the whole offseason revamping the Defense and neglected the oline, so now their franchise QB is getting smacked around all day. the most sacked QB in the league. did u see how quickly he scored in Minnesota? the guy will be great one day.

I'm hoping a ton of QBs declare for the draft this year and we can snag one of them. There are a lot of good guys out there and they aren't all going in the first round. Off the top of my head there is:

Bradford

McCoy

The Golden Calf of Bristol

Snead

Locker

Pike

Robinson

Hall

Devlin

There are 9 QBs right there. I can't say that I've watched much of any of them other than the first 5. But some are talking about Devlin being 1st round pick quality and if Snead decides to come out this year he could slip after having a sub-par year so far. I just want a QB that has been successful and has what it takes. It sucks that we traded away what could have been the pick to get McCoy. I really like that kid.

oh gawd. even i'd rather have jake over quinn...

but, in all fairness. quinn was never developed and what little opportunity he has had, has been on one of the worst teams in the league for many years. maybe on another team with better coaching, he could improve. HINT HINT.... "BETTER COACHING"

i don't want a kid coming out early. i agree with parcells, a qb needs a full college experience. look at sanchez.

to be fair, and even though it may not take much, the coaching on the Panthers is better than the Browns.

Quinn for a 4th rounder may sound attractive, but he still gets first round money, and that's what makes him somewhat 'iffy'. I'm not confident of the Panthers coaches ability to actually develop a young QB, especially one who can be labeled as 'damaged goods' like Quinn. Of course, per that first round money, he will no doubt come cheaper than a first rounder taken after this season, and I'm sure a big chunk of Quinn's guarnteed money has been paid to him, so on THAT basis, his stock goes up a little. Coming here now will no doubt be a better atmosphere for him, given how the Browns don't look like they're going anywhere soon, we have much more for him to work with.

I think Quinn would do well in Carolina. From what I've seen, many Browns find a second win and a second life (Edwards, Dilfer, etc) when they get out of the shithole that is Ohio. And for a fourth rounder? I definitely think it is worth the risk. At least then our backup wouldn't be a former baseball player....

I live 30 minutes south of Cleveland. Blah.

The you should know that Edwards is more interested in being a celebrity than a football player. He always shines on NATIONAL TV. A 5 catch, 65 yard performance is just average. He did have a drop in the phantom PI call. Just wait until he finds something not not to like in NY. He will be dropping the ball in no time.

Didn't Dilfer retire after Cleveland? Because he didn't do poo after they let him go. He was in the twilight of his career anyway.

it really is a big question mark. mainly because this coaching staff has never developed a young QB.

Not necessarily true, Jeff Davidson and more importantly Rib Scherer were on the staff that drafted Quinn and Scherer was the coach when Anderson had his probowl season and last year when Quinn looked like a promising QB, he left town and neither has looked any good.

IMO, with our run game, line and reuniting him with coaches under whom he was coming along nicely for a 4th round pick isn't a terrible move.
