Been doing some digging on Twitter and saw a couple tweets suggesting that the Panthers met with a few players today. Josh Allen is one which is being discussed on main forum so I wasn't going to go into that one here.

Alabama DE -- Da'Shawn Hand

Projected Rounds: Not sure. Saw articles back in Aug/Sept saying he could be a first round pick and I've seen some more recent posts projecting Round 6 - UDFA

Indiana TE -- Ian Thomas

Projected Round: What I'm reading is Rounds 4-6

Saw meetings/interest in two linebackers as well.  Nicholas DeLuca (North Dakota State) and Micah Kiser (Virginia)

Allen was over hyped and could start dropping so that could pay off.  Hand fits the Panther DE mold so that makes a lot of sense and I was seeing some draft analyst saying Thomas was having a great first practice  in both catching and blocking.

EDIT:  West Virginia safety Kyzir White has a meeting set up with Hurney later in the week now too.  https://twitter.com/TheJoeMarino/status/955942311644598272

Sounds like Josh Allen isnt looking so good

And Mayfield looking sharp

My opinion:  I usually just don't like short QBs but Mayfield is going to ball in the league.  70% accuracy for 2 years and just crazy numbers.  He can move in the pocket and yeah he's made some questionable decisions but not a bad guy.  He's going to be really good IMO.

He is leaving the pocket very quickly and is really raw.  2nd rounder at best even though he been talked about at 1.

He will bust no accuracy.. Allen.

Guy that I want out of mobile is Wyatt Teller. LG for VT. if you like Norwell and his nasty streak, this kid has it. Pulls well, and blocks down field well. Prototypical LG. Oh and gettles was looking at him.

Been a fan of Wyatt the last 2 years. Kid loves the game and switched from DL to LG as a freshman as the team had 0 OL depth. He probably would have stuck on the DL maybe outside at DE, but helped the team as a inglorious interior lineman.

Issue on that nasty streak: until this year he drew waaaaaay to many personal fouls playing past the whistle. Best OL out of VT since Duane Brown or Montgomery. Just not a finished product, much like Brown who was a TE to LT convert in college.

    • I don't really like the phrase, "moral victory". I get what's meant by it, but does that mean that if you do the opposite (play poorly but win) it's an immoral victory? 🤔
    • I blame Evero because he is overrated. Vance Joseph created the defense in Denver that he took credit for. Wilks ran the ball down his throat and Darnold had a 103.8 rtg.  Last year we were decent in yards allowed, and horrible in everything else. Only reason? We kept giving up good field position.  He's had his choice of players to bring in since his scheme is so "complicated." Maybe he should stop trying to be so fancy like running Cover 4 on 3rd and 1 earlier and focus on fundamentals like tackling. These years of Eric Washington, Phil Snow, and Evero must have gotten you confused on what a real defense looked like. Go back and watch the McDermott and Wilks years- this dude is sofT.
    • I tried to make it a point in the opening post that I don't think the offense is a finished product. I think we still need more talent at WR, better play calling, catch more consistently, elimate ridiculous penalties,  and be more consistency in scoring points. I'm just saying, they look markedly better than last year imo. They have scored 20 or more in 6 games and 30 or more in 2 games. And that's particularly notable considering they only mustered 10 points and 3 points in first 2 games of this year and they got blanked on 0 points two games in a row to wrap up last season . I'd say that's a market improvement.  I'm not crowning them and saying we have a top 10 offense or anything.  I'm comparing them to themselves in recent history.
