Jeremy Hill - Potential Buy Low RB Option for Norv

1st pick for Gordon? This place sometimes. That is lunacy. He had a 42.9% catch rate last year. He's going to be 27 in a couple months and is one strike away from being done.

I'm not saying I would do it (but not saying I wouldn't)...But this draft is probably not going to be great for WRs,  and it's so deep at other positions, in that there's not a helluva lot to distinguish a first from a second (or maybe even a third) as far as talent and/or potential, so this would be the draft to do it if you wanted to do it.

It all depends on your player evaluations and draft grades.  I mean if it holds true that you can get first round talent relative to this year's class in the second or third round,  then you could consider the risk.  From what I've gathered,  this class will be particularly deep at QB,  RB,  and DB.  If there's no DE or OT (LT)  worth drafting at 24, then you might consider getting on the phone.

All I am saying is keep your options open and go with the flow.  Of course free agency will be a determining factor as well.

As for catch rates,  that's not the best stat to justify negatively judging a receiver because of too many variables,  beginning with suspect QB play (particularly from an inexperienced and inaccurate rookie).  Moreover,  27 is nothing for a receiver.  He'll likely be in his prime for several years.

@stbugs, likewise risk factor ain't really got poo to do with being a top three talent.  Making light of an amazing season is kinda crazy.  Gordon was amazing that season,  more amazing than most. Just think if he had had his head on straight all those years.  There's no telling how many yards he would have amassed.  And that was with an arguably third string QB.

edit: damned rushing and auto-correct getting me today.

Lol. Somebody had Gordon his one good year in fantasy. He’s nowhere near top 3, period, especially with his risk factor. Top 3 isn’t a catch rate of under 43%.

Deshone fugging Kizer is his QB lol.

I’m mostly joking about trading for him but he’s still an elite WR, don’t kid yourself

Not a bad thought. Ingram got very little bite wise before resigning with NO. Hill isn’t going to command much, but could be a nice deal. He might be more interested for a little less to come here and prove it. Turner being here might make a RB more inclined to join us a bit cheaper.

I love CMC and I think he’ll continue to do better, but Stewart was so bad this year outside of a couple games. CMC improves his ypc to 4.7 in the second half once the OL started run blocking but Stewart didn’t really. 5 of his 8 second half games were 3.09 ypc or under (2 under 2 ypc). Outside of the one run for 60 against Minnesota which was all blocking (gigantic hole), his best game was Miami with over 6 ypc. Only problem was that was actually under our team ypc average of over 8 ypc.

Yea 3 ypc doesn’t cut it in the NFL anymore.
