Not a major loss. Why you hire a guy with one year as a so so coordinator to be HC is beyond me but its their grave they are digging.

I think Wilks will make a great head coach.  I wish him well.   The defensive personnel in AZ fits him well.

I think he's better suited as HC than a coordinator.  Rivera has had him as Associate HC for a few years now, even when he was DB coach.

Yes, hiring people to help him do that will be very important but that doesn't change my opinion of his potential to be a great head coach.

Best of luck to him! Seems like a first class guy, a solid coach with plenty of room to grow and he's the first Appalachian State player to hold a Head Coach position in the NFL.

He's getting a good framework for a team and if they can draft a great QB or snag Chase Keenum in the offseason, he'll see good results early.

The Falcons reportedly asked him if he wanted to interview for their QB coach spot, but he turned them down saying he wanted to be an OC somewhere.

I'm thinking he probably should have taken the interview.

I don't know why all the hate.  Wilks will be a good head coach and part of me wishes he would be the successor to Rivera.  All the best wishes to Wilks, except when he's playing against the Panthers.
