NFL tinkering with the outcomes of a game?

To all you conspiracy guys, when the Panthers win games, and other fans say the refs are screwing that team over, how do you respond to those people? Yes, it probably happens in every game the Panthers win. A fan on that team's board will cry foul or rigged or BS. Do you still agree with them then? If you agree with them ... carry on. If you think they're paranoid ... shut up.

If they have actual evidence of bad calls yeah I would believe them.

NFL throws interception I agree that the refs are poor. The problem is that there is no accountability in officiating across sports. This is the main contributor, in my opinion, to poor officiating. The reason they keep their jobs is the same reasons a lot of people who are not qualified keep their jobs, unions.

Well, if you can continue to believe that refs have absolutely no bias, then go ahead. Just believe what they feed you.  If you think these terrible calls are just "poor officiating" then fine. All 3 of the Saints games were littered with awful calls. There were TWO on the Saints on the 72 yard Ingram run. NFL wanted a Brees-Brady Super Bowl but the Vikings pulled a horseshoe out of their ass and won. It was as clear as fuging day on the Dion Lewis run with the blatant hold on that irrelevant Patriot Offensive Linemen. Also notice how the refs gave the Pats a free TD? fug Roger Goodell to the point of no return. I hope when he is gone this bias fixes. They "invest all this money" into improving refs and the catch rule and nothing ever changes. Wanna know why that catch rule is so awful and is in a grey area? So they can overturn calls that are even a little hairy. But whatever.. good riddance.

Are we to believe that the NFL wanted Nick Foles in the Super Bowl?

It doesn't really matter who makes it against the Patriots, because people will watch to hope they lose.     That's why the Patriots are like the best rating draw for the NFL, win or lose, fan or hate them, you're watching.     Now, they'd be sad if it was Jags vs Eagles/Minn.

The funniest thing is people here rag on the refs all year, calling them morons and inane ... yet somehow these idiots have the capability of being able to throw a flag at a split second because of an agenda (the play HAS to be able to have the flag thrown btw), or use an ear piece and are told to do something as a play is happening. You all are too much.

Jesus, had the Panthers won the SB or gotten to it this year, this thread wouldn't even be taking place other than, "pretty poor officiating this season," etc.

Get over it. Brady is GOAT, Cam isn't. Bill is GOAT coach. The NFL isn't out to get Cam because he's black, or because he talked back to Ed a few seasons ago. The NFL doesn't dislike the Carolinas to a point they don't want the team to be a success. Vegas will always make theit money no matter WHO is in the game because humans are addicted to gambling and gambling is hard. The storylines you look back on and cry rigged are made as they happen, not before. I mean ... what was the Panthers storyline then? Christ, if everyone hates Cam and the league hates the team why oh why did they put us there? What, like Diggs, we beat the odds?

Unreal.

Yeah - well how to you explain the Panthers being the least penalized team in the league this year and 5th least last year? The fix is in and the refs hate the Panth......oh wait.

They would be happier if it were Brady/Brees, or a rematch from last year, or a Vikings team playing at home.  They would also have been happier with Pats/Steelers and anybody but the Titans making the second round.  The idea that the NFL has coordinated this whole thing is laughable.

What is laughable is people thinking nothing like this could happen when millions of dollars are on the line.     Elections are bought with millions and people don't think NFL games can be influenced?    I envy people who think everything is so perfect, truly.

Yes, elections get bought and we end up hearing about it because there is evidence and people cannot keep their mouths shut.  If the NFL was really buying off all of these refs every year to ensure Brady makes the Super Bowl then eventually someone would have said something.  It has nothing to do with believing "everything is so perfect," or whatever other false thoughts you would like to attribute to me.  It has to do with my belief that an organization that cannot even handle the commissioner's extension quietly is somehow able to successfully pull off such a wide ranging conspiracy between the league, owners, and all of their referees, for all these years without it leaking.

seems a lot of you guys are talking about the bad calls these refs MAKE...you need to look at what calls they DO NOT MAKE...we seen it when Denver headed hunted Cam in the SB and we seen it with the Pats/Jags.  The "no calls" have just as much...if not more...bearing on a game than the blatantly bad calls. Plus, easier to cover up as..."guess they did not see it in real time" excuses.

Of course they do, especially since Goodell.     Too many "story lines" that create ratings have happened.     It's perfectly LEGAL since the NFL is the same type of company as the WWE, "entertainment".    I don't think it always works, and I don't think tons of people are involved, but ONE ref can edge games one direction etc.    The league is almost completely profit sharing so ratings gets everyone involved money.

If the NFL was tinkering with storylines and thought Patriots vs Eagles was a more compelling one than Patriots vs Vikings, or Patriots vs Saints, they are high on some poo that I want to get ahold of.

The Vikings can't be in the superbowl and host the superbowl. The NFL want to bring different markets to the host city. The Vikings beat the Saints because that causes increased fan support. The kind of support to help fill that $billion plus stadium next year.
