NFL tinkering with the outcomes of a game?

Explain how the NFL impacted any of that now. You're claiming that a coincidence is now a fact. You think any of this draws extra ratings? People are tuning in no matter what.

It easily draws in more ratings. You'd have to be delusional to say better matchups and storylines wouldn't.

I think we would be naive to think that there is no way the NFL could rig these games..

That being said, I think it would be very difficult to keep every mouth in the history of the NFL closed when it comes to rigging games.  I don't recall anyone every coming out and saying that they were told to do this or that.. I could be wrong.  I mean, sure they could make everyone sign some sort of NDA, but we've seen first hand how those can be broken.

Just off the top of my head, the Saints hurricane super bowl run was really sketch, they pretty much allowed them to hit Favre over and over with late hits.    The NFL had their storyline in mind, to let the NFL golden boy Favre get hit late after late and no calls you know they had a plan.    Ratings matter, and in a superbowl advertisers can pay less money as ratings fall.    It only takes a ref to do what Goodell says.     There are some really bad refs and somehow..... they keep their jobs, because why?     I don't think it's a giant conspiracy of a TON of people but a ref per ref team doing Goodell's bidding is easy, and it doesn't always work out.     Why are refs getting worse and not better?    Why would they get in trouble if they are just following orders.

Maybe not so obvious, but there are ways to influence a game outcome in various ways. The refs can make or break any game with one or two suspect calls at the right time, injuries that may or may not be valid, bogus plays on the field, etc. With viewership being down and interest starting to drop, they need to keep the biggest teams in the spotlight.

Very hard to prove, but I feel that something is going on

Yup. The balls are controlled be remote control, as is Tom Brady and Julian Edelman. They are really robots which enable the type of precision that was seen yesterday.

fuging REFS MY ASS...The refs can facilitate, but they can't make the plays that we saw by the Pats yesterday. I know my lack of belief in the conspiracy will be the minority view but seriously. Think about the plays that have to be made to win. If the Panthers were the ones making the plays, and fans accused the refs of being preferential, you all would thumb your nose to the haters.

NFL throws interception I agree that the refs are poor. The problem is that there is no accountability in officiating across sports. This is the main contributor, in my opinion, to poor officiating. The reason they keep their jobs is the same reasons a lot of people who are not qualified keep their jobs, unions.

The players are not in on the fix. The refs, coaches, and the leagues front office is in on it. All the coaches wear headsets.

Rodger Goodell phones Rivera directly to his headset to tell him to play more conservatively.

After the 49ers playoff (coronation) at BofA a couple years back I don’t see how one couldn’t agree with OP.

It was in your face blatant as in “we’re not letting the Panthers spoil our Seattle vs 49ers storyline”.

They made a commercial predicting that outcome and were running it that entire season.

That game was BS
