fug the NFL, We Should Be In LII

We had 3 times to beat the saints and we couldn't do it. Win even 1 of those games and winning the bears game might of produced different results in the playoffs . But IMHO , having Shula and our pitiful WR core , and the secondary struggling mightily , our chances to get to the SB this year were still slim to none.

We weren't good enough to advance, ene of story . Stop blaming refs and league conspiracies , had plenty of chances this year despite having a team full of gaping holes.

Sorry bruhs but we beat the Chowdah Cheetahs already this year, beat the pigeons, bills, vikings, should have beaten the eagles, and the only tarnish was the stanks.

And got completely shut down by the Bears, lost to the Saints twice. Then got beat pretty handily by the Falcons in a recent game. We could beat the Pats in New England one week and lose to a group of elephants in a backstroke race the next. We were inconsistent at best.

I don't think the NFL tries to fix games. It would be very difficult and would mean the end of the league if they got caught. I think you can argue more convincingly that there is some bias in officiating. Whatever the reason, certain teams and players tend to have a lot of questionable calls go in a way that favors them. Does anyone believe that penalties are called equally in plays involving Cam Newton versus plays involving Tom Brady?

This board is the LeVar Ball of boards.

Brenton Bersin gonna have his own shoe! BBB BBSunshine edition! They gonna be $500 a shoe. $200 for the shoelaces which are gold, handcrafted by Rumplestiskin. We already sold 18 pairs to people on his street and this is the first time we have mentioned it. Have option for bullet proof display box.

You can't only look at local market. We're technically 6th highest if that is true, but large percentage of that "market" is really transplant fans from northeast or elsewhere. And yeah Aints don't have a large local market, but nation-wide it's much much bigger than other teams. Largely due to having a HoF player like Brees and some success recently.

Yea, these “market size” figures are always misleading.  They’re touted as if they’re the same thing as fan base size and they’re far from it.

There hasn’t been any proof that we would UNDOUBTEDLY stomp the Cleveland Brown’s practice squad. Truth is, we were in position multiple times (at least 5 early) but settled for FGs or punted. The refs made a questionable call at the end of the game that hurt us badly, but the Saints beat us, not the refs. We also shot ourselves in the foot with play calling. I don’t agree with the call but even without the call there is no guarantee we score. Then, there is no guarantee we beat Minnesota or Philly IN Philly.

There was far more than one questionable call (or questionable no calls as the case was), but I’m not subscribing to the “nfl wanted brees Brady” thing, it’s just a matter of those refs were calling badly against us, whether intentional or not. I do subscribe to the vendetta against Carolina stemming most likely from the combo of cam calling out hochuli years ago and the way his millennial personality irks old guys like refs.

Let's glance over how poorly officiated the two most recent Saints games were, after all, it was just a conicedence that the refs missed a false start and hold on the Saints on Ingram's 72 yard run.

Like the false start Daryl Williams had on the final play of the game that they didn't call?

I don't know if you don't watch much football, but they've let Olinemen moving slightly early at the snap go all year.

No actually not. Like that time where they had our linebackers already out of position, and the offsides that wasn't called which led to the Klein sack, and the "grounding" call. I don't know if you watch much football, but that's isn't even what I was referring too.
