fug the NFL, We Should Be In LII

The League wanted Brees vs Brady so bad that it literally took a miracle to change their storyline. There was nothing to overturn, no flags to throw without putting the refs in danger in Minnesota last week. Fast forward a week and a Nick Foles led Eagles team completely dominates a game no one had interest in. We would have stomped the Vikings and Eagles. The AFC is the biggest joke in the world. Go back to August and if someone told you they saw the future and the Patriots would win LII by beating the Tennessee Titans and Jacksonville Jaguars, two AFC South teams, and a Nick Foles led Eagles team, you probably wouldn't watch. I hate New Orleans. This is the biggest gift the Patriots have gotten. I mean christ the referees were celebrating in the huddle with the Chowdah Cheetahs. poo baseball is becoming more and more inviting. Somebody told me they'd rather see Brahn Strowman tip over an ambulance than Brady come back in two minutes since its on the same level as being rigged. This Super Bowl will be a blow out a la the 80s. I hope this is the lowest rated Super Bowl ever because a change needs to happen. Yesterday was the chance for the league to make things entertaining again, and they just handed Brady a championship on a Silver platter. Next year they'll probably beat an 8-8 Browns team, 8-8 Titans team, and then beat the Lions in the Super Bowl. This league is a fuging joke.

Is what prohibited us from reaching the super bowl, not Goodell

Hurney? I don't see how he could have had any impact on this year, other than the KB trade, and by all accounts the offense improved in the aftermath of the trade.

Why blame the league?

teams have to win to advance. Nothing is scripted. Pit of misery must be being hard on you.

Have some positivity and stop sulking like a spoiled teen.

Stop blaming the League and Goodell for the Panthers not being in the SB... we weren’t good enough this year.

Let's glance over how poorly officiated the two most recent Saints games were, after all, it was just a conicedence that the refs missed a false start and hold on the Saints on Ingram's 72 yard run.

Not saying that the refs are perfect but anyone that believes the NFL wanted NO in the Super Bowl is flat out wrong. I could maybe get behind Minnesota since they are hosting the SB or Philly because of the NFC East bias but come on...

I think this reddit thread (although slightly dated) proves that NO would be one of the last markets the NFL would be rooting for.

You can't only look at local market. We're technically 6th highest if that is true, but large percentage of that "market" is really transplant fans from northeast or elsewhere. And yeah Aints don't have a large local market, but nation-wide it's much much bigger than other teams. Largely due to having a HoF player like Brees and some success recently.

This.

I'm tired of this fanbase shifting blame and trying to make excuses for why the Panthers havent performed. You dont hear fans in the New York/Boston/Chicago/LA/etc markets complaining about league bias or even dirty play usually. The criticism is rightfully turned on the team in those markets. Look, i love the Panthers with all my heart and if it werent for a new financial plan, i'd be buying season tickets for the 3rd season in a row. I'm a card carrying member of the Riot and was raised to wear Carolina black and blue. But the fact of the matter is that the Panthers have a habit of letting themselves be beat on big stages when they are obviously just as good or better than their competition. If there has ever been any league bias or dirty play by an opponent, the Panthers have never been able to mentally overcome such things in their greatest moments. The one glaring exception was the 2015 season where we were hated on all season only to rub the haters' faces in their own fecal matter every Monday morning. But then again, look how the team responded to the Denver Broncos and a few bad ref calls... we seemed to lose focus and break in a heartbeat.

The point i am getting to is this: fug the League, fug the refs, fug our opponents. The Panthers' goal ought to be to dominate every opponent and leave no room for dirty play or league bias to make a difference. We need to run up the score on every opponent like we are playing for the top spot in the BCS rankings. And when we fail to do so and lose, the blame should rest solely on the shoulders of the players and coaches.

I have a feeling if the fans started shifting their blame to the team instead of elsewhere, the local media would be pressured to hold the team more accountable for poor performance. Just a hunch.

There hasn’t been any proof that we would UNDOUBTEDLY stomp the Cleveland Brown’s practice squad. Truth is, we were in position multiple times (at least 5 early) but settled for FGs or punted. The refs made a questionable call at the end of the game that hurt us badly, but the Saints beat us, not the refs. We also shot ourselves in the foot with play calling. I don’t agree with the call but even without the call there is no guarantee we score. Then, there is no guarantee we beat Minnesota or Philly IN Philly.
