Soooo... which RB will Hurney be selecting in round 1?

No RB it will be a LB round one.

yeah, this hasn't gotten enough thought.  Davis announcing retirement? Luke with his head?

I guess the most realistic prediction is we end up with 2 first round picks.  Hurney takes a RB, then trades our next years frist for a LB.

We should try to get Eifert on a 1 year prove it deal. Could be an amazing complementary piece and even future Olsen replacement if he can stay healthy.

Eifert can't stay healthy and just had back surgery. Need to find another one even if Eifert signed and if we end up with 3 then all the better.

What's Hurney Bro??

After Barkly nobody is worth a 1st round pick.  And no matter how much you dislike him.. Hurney doesn't fug up or waste 1st round picks..

I'm mainly just messing around.  I don't really lose sleep about Hurney and the draft.  I've always defended his drafting his overall drafting vs the field.

I do think Hurney puts more emphasis on need than Dave.  Which I like.

We should always be looking to improve every single position. It's easier said than done and resources in the draft need to be used in many different positions. If a TE we like is available and is good value early on then yeah take him, but that's very very far from a guarantee. Eifert is a really logical option to look at in FA. Could easily blow up for us as a TE2 or even TE1, and with his injury history wouldn't be much risk on a 1 year deal. Low risk, high reward. Pretty much a no-brainer to at least look at him.

Got to be a power back to compliment McCaffery.  Don't see any of those one Day 1 currently.  Lots on the 2nd and early 3rd day though.

Here's the other running backs drafted or who we reportedly have had heavy interest during recent drafts (excluding McCaffery):

NAME Height Weight Arm Hand
CAP 5'10" 212 29 5/8 8 7/8
Tyler Gaffney 5'11" 220 30 1/4 9
Todd Gurley 6'1" 222 31 1/2 10
Derrick Henry 6'3" 247 33    8 3/4
Devontae Booker 5'11" 219 31 5/8 8 5/8
Brandon Wegher 5'10" 213 30 1/4 9 1/4

Guice is the only one that makes sense for us in R1. Otherwise if we want a RB that badly , trade down with a team like Browns, Giants, Broncos, Colts, get a high 2nd and high 3rd. Then we have all sorts of draft capital. Would not mind getting a RB in the 2nd , alot of the good backs are projected to go 2nd or 3rd round (Rashaad Penny, Nick Chubb, Sony Michel, Josh Adams) and then Scarborough and Freeman should be there in later rounds.

If I were Panthers scout team and Hurney, I'd be looking long and hard at Guice (in case he drops), Chubb, Penny, and Adams.

Wouldnt be surprised if we get RB or WR in R1. Could easily be Ridley, Kirk, Washington, Guice, Chubb, or even Penny was the leading college rusher last year.

Hinging on a guy like Eifert is very risky but overall we're on the same page here. Having depth like that is ideal.
