Updates on the team sale

Charlotte isn’t big enough or dense enough to need to build the stadium outside of town. In somewhere like Boston, there simply isn’t room to have a downtown stadium. Patriot Place in Foxboro works perfectly for the region and has great road and public transportation access.

Unless the Panthers want to build a train line to a stadium outside of town, I think it’s a horrible idea. The only reason to move it outside of town is greed.

People outside of Charlotte hate Charlotte so it does not surprise me that Chaz Beasley said that. Although this is a regional team, the Panthers belong in Charlotte. I'm sure Raleigh and the government will come up with some plan to move the team there like they've done with any other team or business that's shown interest in Charlotte.

I'm not a fan of Sabates and definitely not a fan of his Domed stadium idea. I'd rather he stay TF away from my team.

I don't think that is true with most people.  I live outside of Charlotte (well outside) and I don't hate it, and I haven't met anyone that really hates Charlotte, at least not any more than they hate any other big city.  Met some people that hate the traffic, but that is about it.

It would be pretty dumb to alienate that many fans.  If Sabates thinks the fans he screwed are going to follow him to a new stadium I think he is very wrong. Charlotte is not Dallas or Atlanta.  I think this type of greed would backfire on new ownership.

People are sheep. They will follow the Sheppard. He could sell all the seats to businesses as well.

One thing I think should be understood regarding that article...

The person providing most of the source material for it is the guy who put the PSL concept in place and thus helped build the current stadium.

He's not exactly someone I would consider an objective source.

I hope this link works... So a total of six potential buyers and only two are local... Makes you wonder who the outside buyers are. I think it said that it maybe possibly announced shortly after the Superbowl. Also, Roger Goodell made it clear during the State of the League address that he would like to keep the Panthers in the Carolinas.... So that's interesting.

If it's to a story, it's not working.

Might have to cut and paste.

Not a ton of substance here, but it is true that there are 6 groups in the bidding. Biggest piece of that article is that they expect things to heat up quite a bit as soon as the Monday after the SB. Hopefully we hear some news then. Really hoping DeBartolo is one of those 6.
