No one has said they want to replace BOA immediately.  Ever.  A new owner has a cash cow sitting in uptown for the next 10 years - they are just talking about 10, 20 years from now.  It would take 2-3 years to even fund, design and build a new stadium at least!   A new ownership group would be dumb to not think about the long term future of the Panthers.  We would be dumb as fans to not want our ownership group to have comparable revenues to other teams also.  If we fall into the bottom 1/4 of the league in revenue because we are too stubborn to modernize and stay relevant then THAT is how we lose the Panthers all together.

Correct, though I don't think it's quite as far in the future as you say here.

From what I've read, there was only about a five or six year gap between the decision to build Jerryworld and its finished construction.  We wouldn't be going for anything quite that elaborate.

As long as they pay for it themselves which never happens, I hate when public money is used for that sh*t , 2 billion dollar disneyland fantasy dome and 3miles outside of it is a war zone.. GTFO

I’m glad Oakland said FU to the raiders for their stadium.

And Vegas was right there 30 seconds later saying please take 750 million of our money to move your team here.

People outside of Charlotte hate Charlotte so it does not surprise me that Chaz Beasley said that. Although this is a regional team, the Panthers belong in Charlotte. I'm sure Raleigh and the government will come up with some plan to move the team there like they've done with any other team or business that's shown interest in Charlotte.

Just because someone wants the Panthers to stay a regional franchise doesn't mean they hate Charlotte by any extent. It's a great city with wonderful people. I love my trips up there to see the games. But the Panthers are a regional franchise representing both North and South Carolina.

Fair to note that Sabates is the only member of the group that's "making noise".  Everyone else is holding silent, including France.

and he'll make noise for the duration of his involvement with the Panthers if he wins, just like he has with the Hornets, embarrassing the team.

Maybe, but when all is said and done, they'll have the Raiders and Oakland won't.

If folks think that couldn't happen here, think again.

Maybe we'll get the Oakland Panthers

and then I only have to drive 1 1/2hrs to see a game vs a cross country flight

Sabates won't necessarily be the only one who wants a new stadium.  Other potential bidders could very easily feel the same.

The more it's discussed, the more it sounds like the "State Line" stadium idea has legs.

Unfortunately, there is a lot of truth to that. Most new owners want new stadiums. Is a shame, because BOA is a great stadium.

Am not a fan of a domed stadium at all.

Really hate it when freaking politicians get involved with sports. They want what’s best for them and don’t give two craps about the actual fans who love their team.

Dont worry about the stadium location being changed anytime soon, will be in Charlotte at least another 10 years.
