as a sports fan, have you ever experienced a moment like the Minneapolis Miracle?

Haven't read through the entire thread, but for me it was 3 times very similar experiences, all 3 with a last second shot that ended up winning a national championship.

1. UNC-Nova from 2 years ago. Paige hitting that double clutch 3, and 5 seconds later at the buzzer Nova hitting a dagger to win it. This one i was on the wrong end of it. In fact, about 8 months later I had completely forgotten the event, blocked it out of my mind. When my uncle asked me about UNC, I said "oh yeah, they were like, sweet 16 and out last year right?". And he politely reminded me of the heartbreaking loss.

2. UNC-Illinois from the title game back in 2005. Marvin Williams hits the go ahead bucket to essentially "walk off" with the title.

And finally,

3. UNC-Gonzaga just last year. I was actually on my honeymoon in Jamaica. My wife had gotten a little tipsy and sunburnt our 2nd day at the resort, and ended up taking a nap just around the start of the game. I was able to sit in the king sized bed, rum in hand, and watch the entire game while she slept peacefully next to me. It was one of the best moments of my life. And that final stretch of 30 seconds or so....block, bucket, block again, bucket again...to seal the win. It happened so fast, no timeouts, no clock stoppages, just straight runs of HUGE plays that hadn't happened all game, and a victory in a national championship game for my favorite college basketball team on my honeymoon where I could celebrate at the all inclusive resort the next day.

Chad Cota's interception against the Steelers in 1996 to seal our first playoff birth was pretty epic, too, for what it was.

Yes it was...I swear I though Kordell had completed a TD pass when it happened live.  What a game.

of course, most people on here won’t recall that as they weren’t fans then.

The App State/Michigan game will always be the craziest/miracle game I’ve ever watched. I can’t even begin to describe the emotions or feeling being in Boone when that happened.

I was at that game and it was  just surreal, like an out of body experience.

I think that was the day the Cardiac Cats name came to be.  I was so pissed that they scored and we were going to lose that game.

the announcer kept saying "Bucs Win! Bucs Win!" but they needed that extra point....thats my old pal Marc in the 90 shirt going nuts to the right of Tom Tupa

yes it was

I was working overseas and spoke with him and they invited me and my GF to come to their tailgate party for the Minnesota Viking game in 2005.   I was so honored.  I am not sure if that was his trailer or someone elses but we had an amazing time.  Of course we witnessed SS ruining the career of Fred Smoots...lol

I was shocked and extremely sad when I heard the news.  What a really great guy.

we still do that. I've been carrying on his idea of documenting the tailgate - when he first started in 1999, him and his buddies worked at Microsoft who gave them all web space so they used it to put up tailgating and game pictures. My site has his pictures and pics from every home game, and a lot of away games.

Brother I am planning on coming to a game in the fall.  Sometime in September.   Still overseas so hooking up with someone for a tailgate is the best for me.   I would love to stop by.

Marc was a great guy and it is cool to meet one of his friends.
