I say yes...but at the very least it’s arguable. Give brees the Panthers defense?

and that’s a 39 year old HOF QB, not a 28 year old QB in his prime. This fact alone makes them in different tiers.

you guys have to stop making this forum look bad I mean homer all out come game day but we don’t need to look so stupid for other lurkers geez

Our defense isn't that good.

if you look at the team cap situation wed save the most cap money by cutting kalil and olsen too out of anyone else on the roster lol. Ugh.

The the problem is what do you replace their production with?

dave tried that and would have continued by hard nosing Olsen and TD to pay cut or leave and probably Ryan too.

great— we saved money but what now?

Obviously poor stewart could be replaced with any cheap power back. We save 3.7 by cutting but who can we replace him with?

you cut those 3 guys to save a lot of money, you better have a plan to replace them— our offensive line played really bad while Ryan was gone and the only reason we had a chance with the Saints was Ryan and Olsen.

so again, save the money and replace with who?

draft a tightend and a center and another running back? That’s cool except we also need safeties and wide receivers now, and defensive end and a guard to replace Norwell, unless we are able to sign him to a Hurney special once the other 3 are cut.

We got 1 yr left. We are already losing Norwell and Star. Thats not going to help at all. We got nothing at DE other than Addy. Thomas is retiring after 18’. And Greg is getting older. Time to win is next season. If not, it’s time to start revamping and bring in young blood. I just dont see we being competitive enough next season unless we are able to hang onto both Norwell and Star. Plus, we are jock tight with money.

Tony Gonzales was one of the top Tight ends in the league still at 38...

Dickson, another team’s reject, or an unproven rookie would have been our number 1 TE. Glad Dave’s gone.

I am going to say this knowing I'll get hurt...is resigning Olsen, Thomas or any older players a good move?  Stewart, Kalil, Captain,  Adams, Fozzy...damn.   Lots of older guys on the decline.

The glaring problem is Gettleman never brought in young talent to step up and take the lead from 2014-2016. You need young players who give your team a reason to get rid of veteran leaders for younger leaders.

DG had just gotten the money under control. No matter how he got there. Now Hurney now has the money.... We will never really know what he could do with money in the bank. But The Giants are getting ready to find out.

You did not need money to draft young leaders. You needed to keep from giving up a ton of draft picks for 5 picks per season while wasting multiple picks on players like Benwikere, Funchess, Worley and Williams.

the draft is a best guess scenario.

I'm sure Hurney will be great past 1.
