Are we in a Window situation?

Shocker

Yeah there’s a window, don’t know how long Luke plays given the concussion history, and we have players approaching 30, so don’t know if there production drops, keep thinking too far in the future and you’ll waste the current talent on the roster, the evident issues with the team have gone 3-4 seasons not being properly addressed. A sense of urgency needs to be in effect

so Brees takes our team further this year?

I say yes...but at the very least it’s arguable. Give brees the Panthers defense?

and that’s a 39 year old HOF QB, not a 28 year old QB in his prime. This fact alone makes them in different tiers.

you guys have to stop making this forum look bad I mean homer all out come game day but we don’t need to look so stupid for other lurkers geez

No because our defense couldn’t stop above average qbs,  but as of now it’s brees over cam and it’s not debatable, and that’s partly due to the FO inability to get him WRs to throw to but I gotta give credit where it’s due. Cam’s dealt with a subpar offesne and Bree has dealt with a subpar defense majority of there careers.

Olsen -100% Totally worth it.

TD- will probably be worth it after you see his effort knowing it’s his last year. I think he finds that step he lost this year for his finale.

Kalil- Tough one , obviously stay if he’s healthy . Will probably be on his terms.

The rest I agree with if we find a replacement that is equal or lower priced.

Going to be some tough decisions .

if you look at the team cap situation wed save the most cap money by cutting kalil and olsen too out of anyone else on the roster lol. Ugh.

Our window will close as soon as cam decides he's had enough of management and asks for a trade.. I don't have enough faith in us finding a suitable replacement for him if that happens.

Hopefully they give him some poo to work with this year and he takes us to the promised land in the next year or two

Your window opens when you have a franchise QB in his prime, and to some extent the window can remain open past the QBs prime. For instance Brady and Brees have have held the window open longer than usual because they are 1st ballot HOF QBs. Our window will be open until Cam's play dips significantly due to the aging process. One major problem is that the Falcons and Saints windows are open as well. Not good. It makes the NFCS brutal and easily the best conference in the NFL. Compounding the problem is that the Saints and Falcons have better coaching staffs and coordinators than the Panthers. Drafting the wrong players has also been a major problem, for instance KB. When you screw up in the 1st round it has a major effect for years to come. I think we're in a position now where we need to hit FA hard to fix the team as best we can to contend with the Saints and Falcons.
