2017 Case Keenum reminds me of 2003 Jake Delhomme

Jake was right up there with my favorite Panthers of all-time prior to his meltdown...  he was underrated physically as an athlete and really did embody all those intangibles that can't be measured...  I'll never forget him throwing that TD in the Superbowl and talking poo to Rodney Harrison...  it was beautiful lol.

There may be some similarities, but I think It's a little different.  Smitty was much more physical than Diggs is.  Keenum also plays differently than Jake did, as Jake was more of a gunslinger-type, and Case is a more creative, measured type of passer.  I watched a lot of Case in college and I was surprised he went underrated.  I thought he was a sure-fire starter in the NFL, and had a lot of potential in the right system, so I'm happy to see him doing well.  Goes to show you how horrible Jeff Fisher and his staff were - he almost ended Gurley, Goff, and Keenum's careers before they ever really began.

All that being said, I think the biggest similarities with Jake and Smitty is just that it seems like a magical run, just like 2003 was for us.  I'm pulling for a Vikes and Jags Superbowl...  then I'd probably be happy for whichever team won.

Definitely a gunslinger.  Jake had a passion about him and pissing him off was dangerous.  Very, super competitive QB.  Till he blew out his arm I loved watching him play.  All many remember was his meltdown but damn he was an amazing QB for a 6 seasons.

I thought about this while I was watching the game. Also, the Diggs catch is similar to the x clown. Theyre also playing the Eagles without their starting QB in the NFC championship game. If they play New England in the SB im going to be cheering them on like they were the Panthers. Give NE a taste of what small market teams can do.

I was thinking that.  For Vikings fans, Seven Heaven is their X-Clown.  That play will be remembered forever.

When asked about Carolina's need for more receivers heading into the offseason, Morgan kind of brushed it off. “We’re just going to look to add really good football players,” Morgan said, via Joe Person of The Athletic. “It’s not going to be specific to any position or need.”...
    • Former Panthers WR has been massive bust for Cowboys https://www.si.com/nfl/panthers/news/former-carolina-panthers-jonathan-mingo-massive-bust-dallas-cowboys "...Then, midway through 2024, the Panthers decided to send Mingo to the Dallas Cowboys before the trade deadline, receiving a fourth-round draft pick in return (Carolina also sent a seventh-rounder the Cowboys' way). This has turned out to be an outstanding deal for the Panthers thus far, as Mingo totaled a mere five catches for 46 yards in eight games with Dallas this year. He made good on just 31.3 percent of his targets, and between Carolina and the Cowboys overall in 2024, he amassed 12 grabs for 121 yards..."
