We can’t go into next year with a Worley/Bradberry CB tandem

I am not sure why you want to argue something that is relatively subjective and based on a pretty small data set. To that point, only 12 of those players on your list are still in the NFL. 20% of the CB's that were drafted in 2012 were actually not at the combine. Only 65% of the combine participants were drafted. If you want to include historic data, why not give me where he ranks among active NFL CB's in those workout/combine numbers? Isn't that ultimately the best data to support your point regarding where he ranks athletically?

Jesus Christ...

Two Veterans that interest me is Kyle Fuller and Trumaine Johnson! I remember watching Fuller coming out of Vtech and he was a big time playmaker and now his brother who plays for the Redskins has become one of the better players in that secondary now. I do think that Fuller and definitely Trumaine from the Rams who had a down year due to injury can definitely help us. The Rams might not keep him due to salary.

I was banging the drum for Carolina to draft Kendall Fuller and was almost positive they were after trading up. Much to my dismay it was for Worley. I was praying for Geno Atkins in the 3rd round when we traded up in 2010 but lo and behold Armanti freaking Edwards.

Anyways, I would really like Kyle Fuller. I just don’t know where exactly his price range is at. I know Trumaine Johnson is going to be too rich for our blood. I think Grimes and Amukamara are ideal targets that can be affordable and stabilize the secondary.

Huddlers the issue isn't the CBs. The lack of speed & coverage skills in the Safety department is causing  majority of the problems in the secondary.

I’ll say it for the millionth x , Panthers need a tall & rangy FS to contain the deep WR Corp in NFCS.

I saw too many missed tackles by Worley and Bradberry, and other things,  to put their bad play on Coleman. A new FS may help the D overall, but he won't help them make tackles, and just be better fundamentally on an individual basis.

Will now have to see Washington's scheme before we cast either one out...

New scheme, offseason training and 3rd year may equal promise. We do need quality depth to push these guys though.

Gunter impressed me when he came in for his limited snaps during our last game...Seymour is up in the air. Munnerlyn seems to have lost a step but hopefully Elder will contribute next season. We need a vet who still has wheels and maybe a draft pick.

I think one becomes depth, we drop Seymour if necessary, bring in a lock down corner and go.  Scheme matters, but so does execution.  They to be able to do both zone and man.

Adams had a good year.  Coleman was battling injuries.  I am open to improving the safety but not at the expense of a new corner.  A tall and rangy FS is not should not have to catch the ball after it goes through Bradberry's hands.   You don't want your safety making tackles because the corner missed them, again.

In this article they talk about how our corners didn't have any interceptions until the 13th game of the season and Worely and Bradberry only had 3 all 2016.   http://www.espn.com/blog/carolina-panthers/post/_/id/28426/panthers-corners-coming-up-empty-when-it-comes-to-interceptions

"Rivera also says a change in philosophy by first-year defensive coordinator Steve Wilks has been a factor.

“With some of the things Steve has done, changing up his different calls, his pattern of calls, we’ve asked them to play a lot with their back to the line of scrimmage," Rivera said of his corners.

Carolina corners also have spent a lot of time playing the receiver instead of the ball.

“We’ve had some in our hands that we should have caught," Rivera said. “A great example is last week [at New Orleans]. Daryl Worley makes a great play, great position, makes a good break on the ball and had an opportunity to make a big play."

He didn’t."

I hope we find the right scheme/personnel to fix our secondary next season.

Gaines from the Bills or Melvin from the Colts would be good options, if they become available. It looks like a pretty deep CB pool in free agency, so I am hopeful we can get a solid veteran. I would even consider someone like Patrick Robinson if the price is right. We don't necessarily need a franchise cover cover, just a solid veteran to let Bradberry and Worley shift around and maybe develop a little more.

I'm a big fan of Melvin and EJ they both can really play. I can see Melvin maybe staying in Indy and EJ might stay in Buffalo though. Patrick Robinson would be very intriguing.

We do need better safety play but the corners have been a issue especially Worley and Seymour from time to time. Overall I don't think they are bad we just need better play and stability on the outside.

Because I’m totally bored, and because I was at the stadium, I tivoed the Vikings game

i just watched it

my god, our safeties and cbs are bad

the offense was lumbering as well but hopefully we have addressed that situation but that defensive backfield is atrocious ...absolutely atrocious

Go back and watch the Wildcard game if you can. Michael Thomas dominated our secondary and Teddy Ginn can now catch deep balls. If we don't add a legit CB and Safety in the draft no way we win the division or advance in the postseason.

Hate Ginn.  Hate him.  Couldn't catch a cold while he was here, demands more money, doesn't get it, goes to a division rival and then has one of the best catching percentages in the league.  What a turd.

How can you hate a guy for demanding his market value? We signed Russell Shepherd to a nearly identical contract that Ted Ginn signed in N.O. It's 100% our own fault. We paid the wrong guy.
