Interesting.... I would like to see his drop rate compared to other QBs.  I would bet money he is near the top of drops.

he's done that with really bad OL play for most of his time and 2nd rate WRs who can't hold on to balls or get any separation in a predictable scheme that calls plays that take 30 minutes to develop.

pretty impressive.

let's hope that norv can get the receivers he wants, can help cam hone his abundant natural skills as a passer, and can get a somewhat less predictable handful of plays that spreads out the defense rather than keeping everyone bunched together like shula.

Yes but-Cam has been fairly inconsistent due to his coaching.  His maturity and leadership are great now, but I wonder about the Shula Dorsey impact on his career.  He ran and took beatings to save drives.  His mechanics were never fixed--how many years does that take?   I personally do not see him lasting until  36.  I see somewhere around 32 simply from  wear and tear.  If he suffers a major injury, it could be sooner.

Yep, that’s why you can’t trust stats. Throwing 2 TDs and rushing for one while having a subpar supporting cast, is better than throwing for 4 TDs surrounded by talent. A lot of things get overlooked when looking only at stats.

Cam needs a Ginn replacement. We were totally lacking what Cam was the best at in 2015 + 2016 deep bombs down the field.

2017 was probably the worst conceivable year he might have had in his career with receiver talent.I think Funchess was the only one that did what he was expected to do . Ginn was gone in free agency (huge blow to offensive explosiveness that wasnt replaced)  Benjamin was traded halfway through the season (Cams favorite target WR) , Samuel couldnt stay healthy , Byrd couldnt stay healthy , Shepard and Clay couldnt catch or get separation consistently , and Bersin did well for being a fringe roster guy but he clearly was not enough .

In the offseason the only WRs we should have on free agency day 1 is  Funchess, Samuel, and Byrd. Bersin, Clay, and Shepard shouldn't be here. Id argue we need at least 2 WRs to add to the roster that arent bottom of the barrel FA cast aways and arent project WRs from the draft.

No it's not.

Scoring 4 TD's no matter the situation is better than 3.

It’s better score wise and statistic wise yes. But that’s not what I am talking about. If you have below average talent around you and score 3 TDs, that’s at least just as impressive as scoring 4 with above average talent.

For instance, if you have Hunt as a RB, Antonio Brown and Alshon Jeffrey as receivers, and Kyle Rudolph as your TE, and you score 4 TDs; I believe that is comparable to having Fozzy as your RB, Bersin and Funchess (early Funch), and Olsen as your TE and scoring 3 TDs. But that isn’t taken into consideration just looking at stats. Neither is the fact they played in a different era. Stats are misleading in that way. There are other factors that are not looked at, that’s all I am saying.

    • 100%. And these same people will claim you have an agenda. You can't have it every way. We had the lowest rated defense in the league last year. Statistically the worst ever. By PFF grades (for whatever that's worth- but they are readily accepted, used, and conveyed by most "reputable" sources), the defense was the worst ever. Not only that, PFF rated our receiving corp the worst in football last season. The absolute worst... out of 32 teams. Which is why regardless of the lip service Canales and Morgan paid to the current guys, they knew it would be criminal not to give Bryce more help. People fixating on team stats and not taking these things into context are stupid, plain and simple, and I'm for one thankful they're not running this team (or probably anything for that matter bc they obviously can't discern reality. Again, going back to the eyeball test these Narrative Nancies seem to hate so much, did they not see the windows Bryce was putting balls into? Have the generally not watched much NFL? Please, please show me the film where all these NFL QBs are making throws like this to this point Bryce was "below average" down the stretch compared to them. Bryce made more wow throws in that 3 game stretch of the Bucs, Chiefs, and Eagles than every other QB combined in all the years since since Cam got hurt I genuinely am baffled by people that can watch throws like that and act like it's nothing. I guarantee you Steve Spagnola, Todd Bowles, and and Vic Fangio didn't think it was nothing after watching the little guy torch them with players those teams would be embarrassed to trot out at the skill position players. The national media spent all year making excuses for Mahomes not having elite weapons when he had multiple 1st & 2nd round talents at the skill positions along with future HoFers in Kelce and Hopkins. Bryce wasn't throwing for 300 yards every week with David Moore and Adam Theilen in spite of jaw dropping throws and you want to say the guy played below average. For those people, again, we ain't watching the same sport. And the name calling doesn't change that... The vitriol and projection... it's off the effing charts with these people.
    • "Well you see if you remove this terrible game that terrible game this other terrible game and then focus on these games you'll see he's actually one of the better QB's in the league and he's actually as good as Jayden Daniels". My god this place is delusional. I love it.
