Hurney is "the worst GM in the NFL"

True, but Getteleman gets more of the responsibility as well.

People don't necessarily agree with it, but I still say that the coaches,  including Shula, achieved pretty good success during Gettleman's era more in spite of him than because of him.

The fact that the record prior to Gettleman was markedly less impressive than the record with Gettleman doesn't really say much for that argument.

It's also pretty difficult to call the coaching successful when two of the more important coaches were just relieved of their duties.

To your first point,  the same can be said of Rivera and Shula.

To your second point, I don't expect that either coach will be out of a job long.  Sometimes a fresh approach is warranted.  We really don't know why Richardson fired Gettleman,  but I'm glad that we're getting a new approach.  Unlike you,  I just don't think things were working (because we wouldn't have fallen off a cliff when we had every chance to get over the hump, and we wouldn't have so many holes that we have right now).

Oh really. Is that why we had one of the bottom ranked offenses in the league?

What's our record over the last few years compared to prior years again?

You think Shula and Dorsey are gonna get hired quickly?

Possible, but I just can't see it.  Dorsey maybe since Shurmur expressed interest in him.  Shula?  Not so much.

First you need to decide what reality you want to live in. Do you want to sit around posturing about poo that happened 5 or 10 years ago or do you want to talk about recent failed moves or lack of moves that affected us in 2017 and will affect us in 2018? Screaming about who Hurney drafted 8 years ago doesn't change the circumstances Gettleman has left us in.

Figure that out and then we can talk.

The speed at which one is hired is not always indicative of skill level, sometimes it's more indicative of what jobs are open,  and who is or is not available at the time.

That's about what I expected.

I live in the reality where were more successful with Gettleman as GM than we ever were before.  Your reality seems to shift depending on the day and which side you feel like jumping in on.

Trolling might be fun for you.  For the rest of us, it's kinda boring.

A guy they both spent several years working with has an opening and isn't interested in either one.

Because the only reality is that DG is gone, and isn’t the one running the team right now. The disaster from 5-10 years ago is and is very relevant to right now.

Well I guess it is if you're burying your head in the sand about our current predicament. If you're actually concerned about the future, and not focused on jerking off Dave Gettleman at all costs, what's happened the past year and where we go from here with the situation DG left us in is what's "very relevant".

No we were more successful with Cam Newton at QB. Take Cam off this roster the last few years and that record drops significantly. And we already know Gettleman wasn’t even a Cam guy coming in.

Cam was here before Gettleman and  we still weren't winning.

Now you can try to say that Cam matured, but the reality is those first two years it was the defense that was costing us games as much as anything else. You need a complete team to win, not just one or two good players.

As to Gettleman not being a Cam guy, he's never said a single thing that lends any credence for that notion at all (just the opposite, in fact). If you believe he has, I'd challenge you to find it.

And of course there's that contract he gave him (the one you swore he never would).

Yes because saying Hurney sucks, is the exact same as calling DG perfect. There’s usually an over/under of 3 posts before you play that cop-out.

Fell you what. Gettleman was the worst GM in NFL history. This whole team is on him. There that’s settled.

Now, does that suddenly make you feel better about the future of our CURRENT GM and his past mistakes repeated.
