Hurney is "the worst GM in the NFL"

Hurney handed out the worst contracts yes but he found star talents . Luke , Norman , hardy , cj , Kalil . He also made a great trade for Olsen . He's not a good gm but he didn't do a bad job at all this season and he's actually addressing the needs unlike gettleman . Screw bpa that only works if you have no holes we have glaring needs on offense . We need to fix our run game and passing attack more then anything . Our defense can survive for a year . This free agency has to be about resigning Norwell and giving cam some weapons im sick of having to fall back on players like Byrd and Samuel they have shown nothing not saying that can't turn into something but why not get some proven receivers . There is a ton of talent for wr in this freeagency , look at the jags they are so deep at wr they can let Robinson and lee both walk . Next season is the most realistic super bowl run for us it's that or bust . Go all out and make a run instead of doing this conservative bs worrying about a cap screw that we have nothing to lose why not be aggressive it's not like we won a damn sb before . It's a damn shame how bad the saints were and now they might pass us right up and get another ring while we look back and say oh we were so damn close and only if we weren't so damn cheap and actually got quality free agents and didn't pick up bums that can't even make a practice squad maybe we would have a ring already . We already fugeid this season but Shula is gone now and we are only a free agency and a good draft away from our faith .

Welcome back, Igor.

(I see you haven't learned much of anything since your last visit)

they are now. brees is in a contract year.

here's their records the 5 years previous:

  • 2016: 7-9
  • 2015: 7-9
  • 2014: 7-9
  • 2013: 11-5
  • 2012: 7-9

what's going to happen with brees in the offseason? you think he was going to be the consummate pro he touted himself to be during the lockout or the "me0first" he showed himself to be the last time his contract was up where he said he would hold out until he became the highest paid QB in the league, even though it undoubtedly hurt the team?

what they've got now isn't sustainable.

if they keep brees (who still says he wants to be the top paid guy in the league and this year is making a statement for that) then they will end up making it nearly impossible to keep key playmakers or bring in any new ones. if they let him go, there's no way that they are going to keep being the high powered offense they've been able to be since he's been in the toilet bowl of the Mississippi.

Delhomme never at any point in his career looked like an All-Pro.

He was good enough to do what we needed him to do, but please...

(and I'm a fan)

64% completion percentage, 8-1 TD to INT ratio, 111.8 QB rating through two and a half games. He was balling out and then tears his shoulder up and is never the same.

Jake was going to be first QB in NFL history for having 100+ QB Rating a whole season until we lost a game and that took that record away from him. I don't remember the year that was done though.

Gettleman nuthuggers like Scott are funny. They’re quick to point out Hurney’s tiniest mistake, but will never criticize Gettlaman’s biggest errors.

I'm going to try and explain this one more time, and I'll speak slowly so that you can keep up.

Nobody has ever suggested that Gettleman didn't make mistakes. Hell, Belichick makes mistakes. Ozzie Newsome makes mistakes. They all do. There's such thing as a perfect GM.

What Gettleman did do, however, was guide this franchise through it's winningest period in history, including one of the best seasons of all time.

Did he have some leftovers from Hurney? Yes, just like a lot of Hurney's best players were left over from Seifert. But Hurney had those players too, and even with them he couldn't build a winning roster.

Gettleman did.

You can spend the rest of your life whining about the fact that he cut Steve Smith, Josh Norman or whoever. We still won more consistently than anyone else had, and that's the only thing that really matters.

If you're not bright enough to understand that, I can't help you.

Please, without an experienced Cam Newton we would be drafting in the top 10. Cam is the x-factor.
