Nice article.

The list of receivers that have excelled under Turner is impressive.

The Vikings found Adam Thielen and Stefon Diggs with Turner on the staff in Minnesota.

This statement gives me hope that Turner knows how to find gems and players that fit his offense.  For whatever reason we seemed to be cursed when it comes to drafting WRs.   KB and Funchess aren't bad but they aren't great either.  Hurney sucks at it.  I won't throw too many names because some of you might have seizures but Colbert and Jarrett are a couple.

Note to Hurney:  Let Turner pick the receivers.

don't turn your back on funchess.. I think he will have a huge season under turner along with samuel. They are identical to theilen and diggs.

Funchess isn't KB slow.  He may not be the fastest receiver we have but with the right partner on the other side Funchess can be very effective.  Add in CMC out of the backfield and Samuel in the Slot.

To me, Turner has weapons already on this Roster and only needs to add one or two and it's light out.

Not only does Jarrett come to mind, but so does the fact that we immediately cut Keyshawn (against his will) because we didn't need him anymore with Jarrett.

I think I just threw up in my mouth..... Thanks for reminding me....lol.

What a stupid move.  About the only thing Jarrett and Keyshawn had in common was they came from USC.

It's really good to have some perspective around here because we have a bunch of rapid fire topic starters who truly have no clue what the NFL is all about.

LOL so Funchess is supposed to be Theilen?

And I wouldnt say Samuel is anyone until he can actually prove he can stay on the damn field for a season

If they draft a rb like Chubb the will they relegate cmc to strictly a 3rd down back with 5 or 6 touches a game? Cmc says he wants to be an every down back I can’t see it if they get a number one back

I dont think so...you move him around...that was the whole point  of drafting him...

It won't really who the OC is if we don't get more weapons on offense. This is less about Cam Newton and more about better play calling period. It is completely unacceptable to go as many games as we did and have to burn a timeout to get the play in. Olsen, Funch, and McCaffery have a role in this offense but we need more period.

    • He will get a statue outside BofA stadium.
    • While this is true, I'm less concerned about him playing both ways from an endurance standpoint (although it's a very legitimate issue that would hurt him on both sides of the ball, especially late in the season). The real concern about him playing both sides is the physicality of the game at this level, especially with how slim his frame is, his career wouldn't last more than 5 or 6 years, if even that long. Playing 5 years full time on both sides of the ball is literally the equivalent to playing a 10 year career. If you think a 6'1" 185 lbs player can take the pounding of a 10 year career over the course of 5 years, stay healthy doing so, and still play at a high level for a number of years after that, then I have some oceanfront property to sell you in Arizona. You can't take a player in the Top 10 of the draft (or really anywhere in the first round) if your plan is to use them in a way that will make it near impossible for them to play the length of a 2nd contract in the NFL. The only way he plays both ways in the NFL is as a CB who gets 5-7 snaps on offense a game, half of which would just have him out there as a decoy to try and take the defenses attention.
