Deserves got nothing to do with it.  Not everyone will view the situation here the way you do.  He will get a job if he wants one.

Well then there idiots how bout that?...And oh yes that's MY OPINION if i didnt clarify that before.

I definitely think Cam needs to be pushed by somebody who knows what the fug they’re doing. I just get tired like most people when we get the tmz version when we should be getting a well rounded, thoughtful opinion that goes into the nuances of the position and offense as a whole. Which is why Troy is very disappointing to me. And that’s not just with Cam but with every nfl player. If they’re doing it with Cam, you know they do it with a lot of others. Lazy opinions.

You're not going to get any of that from the media.  As Don Henley so aptly put it; "people love it when you lose".  Dirty laundry sells.

The only negatives I’ve heard about this hire are from mouth breathers on the interwebs. Most experts and people well respected around the league think this hire will be a home run.

they said the same thing when he went to minnesota. his offenses haven't been very good this decade.

i think he'll definitely be an upgrade over shula, but it's completely reasonable to be upset with the fact that we didn't explore any other options.

I think this marriage is going to put us at the top of the NFL.

A Norv Turner offense plus a Ron Rivera defense??? Hot damn color me excited.

We only need a few pieces for the defense to take a step up. The offense isn't far away either now that we have a genius coordinator and will be getting everyone back healthy to start the year.

When you look at things on the surface it looks like Cam is a below average passer. For Troy to say things like this when he’s played the QB position at a high level and understands the nuances of the game it is inexcusable. He’s doing a disservice to a fellow professional and it makes me not take anything he says seriously. You can’t on one hand call out how horrible a Shula play design is repeatedly and then on the other hand talk about how horrible Cam is as a passer. Those two are linked.

Cam makes some poor throws but if you look at the entirety of a game compared to other skilled passers its roughly the same. He’s not Drew Brees or Brady. But he’s not a running q.b. He’s a qb who can run.

He’s a running qb This season and 2015 he ran more than Vick ever ran the ball. He won’t change.

Samuel has only been in the league one season, can't stay healthy is based on one season. He broke his ankle, could happen to anyone. Once he got over the hammy he was fine. Just call him a bust, it's about as inaccurate as calling him injury prone. It would be one thing if he was also hurt in college but it isnt the case.

I agree, the Samuel can't stay healthy comments are ludicrous after only one season.  We only know that he couldn't stay healthy this year.  His future is still an unknown.

Because he really isn't that good.  You have to weed through the fluff of the commentators on TV.  They are paid to pump up the teams and coaches.

The difference being that regardless of what the so called experts say the truth is in the actual success.  Shula didn't have any, Norv has it in spades.

Correction. Norv HAD it in spades.  If he still can do it...and do it with Cam is a huge question mark.  Here is also the difference between getting hyped up about a new hire and possibilities ( fluff as you might call it)....and the realities on the ground.

True.  Whether he can repeat his past success with this team is yet to be determined.  I'm sure he wouldn't have taken the job if he felt he couldn't at least make a noticable improvement.

He was asked to do those things because we ldon’t have a run game outside of him. He is literally our entire offense running and passing.

how do you explain his passing stats being up there with HOF qbs after their first 7 seasons?

Ugh I’m tired of hearing all these jabs at Cam about “fixing” him and what not. Dude does not need to be fixed. Is he the best passer? No. But he makes up for it with all the other things he brings to the table. He’s a top 10 qb that any team would kill to have.

And I have a bad feeling we’re all going to be saying fug Norv 2 games in.
