Well Dwill in 2006 and Stew in 2008 , it isnt totally unexpected. Especially with stew being 31 next season , been declining over the last several years , and is set to count 5 million vs the cap next season

Not sure what you meant with this post. I agree stew should be cut to save money. I don’t believe cmc can carry a load, but obviously I might/hope I am wrong. I’d like to give him a season as the feature back before spending another high round pick on a rb. Power backs can be found late and we could easily use armah or even cap to relieve cmc.

I actually like that Crowell idea. Not a sexy name but an adequate talent that wants and can handle more work and that would be reasonably priced. Another name that could be interesting is ivory. He signed that fat contract w jax and now is a backup. They've got some resigning to do and i'd have to think they could save a bunch by letting him go.

Back in training camp I said this would be JStew's last season and I think we'd see him retire. I still think that is what will happen. He's got a kid and a wife, he's still young without lingering injuries, he's made a couple of fortunes and I can see his family being taken care of for decades. The West Coast is calling and he's done his job well.

CMC isn't going anywhere, except out into the flat to catch more passes. We haven't even scratched the surface of what he will do in his career.

Fozzy's career was supposed to be over back in 2013 when he was cut from Arizona's practice squad. Then he was cut from San Diego's practice squad. And then cut from the Browns practice squad in 2014. Most guys don't come back from that and just have to hang their hat on the idea that they did make it to the big leagues, even if they didn't make the show. Fozzy caught on with us, though, and has managed to survive here as being a jack-of-all-trades. He's not going to be a RB1 or an RB2 for any team, but when you need that third stringer who can run, catch and even field kick-offs, he's that guy and he's got one heck of a work ethic. He's under contract through next season, he's relatively inexpensive, and you can't risk being able to replace him easily when you have a new offense being installed. He's here through next season, IMO.

CAP. Well, it's just not going to happen here. It's not going to be a thing, no matter how hard some people try. Hopefully he'll wind up with a chance in a training camp out there and something will click. I think the road for him ended in Atlanta, though. I wish him good luck out there.

Lastly, Armah. We have a fullback. We're gonna need one. I think he's our guy for the long haul.

I think it's time to move on from Stew, Whittaker, and Payne. I will accept Stewart on a restructure, but I'd like to see new talent brought in to solidify the position. Stewart still has value as the goal line option, as well as in pass protection. However if he stays a reduced roll is needed IMO.

I still think Stewart has something left.  My gut tells me that the scheme (read option) isn't his forte.

I want to see them line up run Armah through first and Stewart to follow.  I bet his YPC would go back up.

The read option used to be pretty good but as defenses always do.  They figure it out and things just get congested at the line.

Would keep Stew if he restructures.  I think he has a lot left.  I agree his problems this year were the scheme, predictable 1st down run up the middle, no downfield passing game, etc.  I too would love to see him with a FB.  He might be excited enough about turner to stay for less....if given the opportunity.

I was really high on CAP this year and was really disappointed by his play in the Atlanta game. He looks good off the bench but when he gets a chance to start, he's very uneven. We need a solid two-back system where both backs are viable threats to rush and receive, so teams can't key in on either.
