Now OC is done, should we now be focusing on DC now that it seems Wilks is as good as gone?

Ron is extremely hands on with the Defense. So it’s likely whoever ends up as DC, would need to likely need to gel very well with Ron.

Hate to break it to you, but Wilks is far from “as good as gone”.

He is not a HC this season.

Honestly, I don't see Wilks getting a HC job this year. Giving up 31 points in a Wild Card Round loss doesn't help his chances this year.

 

Hate to say it, but all of those interviews he's gotten might just be to abide by the Rooney Rule.

Wilks is likely returning, but if there's a surprise and he's hired elsewhere Rivera has all but flat out said that he'll elevate Eric Washington to the DC job.

Honestly I want Ron Rivera as the DC. He can put a guy in the job as a figurehead but it's not like Ron is exactly doing a lot on the sidelines besides staring blankly.

It sounds like the coaching carousel is going to pass by Wilks this time. Apparently the finalists for the Giants job are McDaniels, Patricia, and Shurmer with Patricia as the fave. The fave for the Cardinals seems to be Shurmer. He's not interviewing with the Colts (McDaniels or another offensive guy here) or Lions (Patricia as their #1, Vrabel as their #2 from what I've read).

I could see the Lions taking a look at him. I mean there standards are somewhat low.

I'm all but certain Washington is the guy. Hopefully Ron is able to hold on to him before Wilks convinces him to join him.
