Don't draft one. Sign a vet. I want Donte Moncreif, cheaper than some of the other names with high potential.

You were half way right.. right idea wrong player..

Give me a guy who has actually produced in the league this time..

Moncreif is like Sheppard was last year.. He might be good or he might be what he has been for Indy..

Give me a guy this time who actually put up numbers..

I’m a huge supporter of Lee. He will do well with Cam

No they are not better talent wise.

belicheck seems to prefer smart players that play hard every down, rarely make mistakes and get on Brady’s page.

The patriots are also much better at scheming than anyone— get the most out of what they have— also because those players play hard and execute smartly within their scheme.

Brandon Cooks couldn’t thrive in New Orleans and Brees is a great quarterback— but the Patriots so better scheming him in, and Belicheck just said Cooks never takes plays off even in practice— 89 was like that.

we don’t get a lot of that, and we don’t have coaches that scheme to get the most out of them either.

maybe Norv will change that, and of course the players we have need to be what I just said—- high motor, smart, low mistakes, don’t take plays off. This trumps talent. Most haven’t learned that so they all continue to be inconsistent

Huh? Cooks performed better statistically his last two seasons in NO than he did in NE this year. Back-to-back 1100+ yards/8+ TD seasons.

I haven’t dove into deep research mode yet, and my go-to source is still pretty bare right now (draftbreakdown.com) but what little I’ve seen on Ridley and Anthony Miller is intriguing. St. Brown also to a slightly lesser degree. Miller might be a bit smaller than what I’d prefer, would be great if we already had a good size #1 guy, but still a strong contender regardless. Sutton doesn’t interest me as much. Looks like another Jarrett to my eye so far,  up I’ve only watched a couple videos. Looks like he has good hands and height, but not the greatest routes or quickness. Keeping my mind open though, still have lots of breakdowns to go through til draft day.

This team needs to spend money on a legit WR.   Watkins, or trade for Gordon, whatever, but these Cinderella receivers that no other team wants is NOT cutting it.    Also, Greg is getting old and I'm not sure we can completely rely on him to carry the slack for too long.     In a dream scenario, Gordon/Funchess/Samuel/Greg/CMC would be nasty.

I agree. This class is awfully bad at top level talent.

Tons of mid-tier guys across the board, but very few superstars at all.

The knock with Calvin Ridley is age and market share. Not the best investment for a first rounde in the top 15, but feasible if he hits our 24 spot.

What’s interesting is Arden Key’s value plummetting like a rock. I know he was a beast the year prior, so I’m not sure what happened, but I definitely would look into him based on 2016 alone.

Need to be proactive and grab a wr soon as free agency hits, no I’m not suggesting getting into a bidding war but don’t sit and wait as WR after WR gets signed. No need in “hoping” the right prospect falls to 24th or trading up for a unknown. Take control early and go grab a guy like Lee early in fa if guys like Robinson and Landry are priced out of our range early. I’d even suggest grabbing one of the guys coming off injury like Meredith or Enuwu as added insurance.

    • Respectfully, I completely disagree. Last year we were:  32nd in Sacks. 32nd in Turnovers.  32nd in Rushing TDs allowed  29th in Scoring.  We were absolutely atrocious on defense last year and that was with a full stable of weapons in Derek Brown, Frankie Luvu and Brian Burns that played all 17 games.  Using yards per game as a metric to guage our success lacks the context that because our offense was so inept teams were not driving the length of the field, they were starting at their 40-50 yard line.  This year, our Defense ranks:  31st in Sacks. Tied for 19th in Turnovers  31st in Rushing TDs allowed 32nd in Scoring  His defense fails to get pressure, fails to turn the ball over and fails to stop the run. Three things you absolutely have to do to be successful in the NFL.  Denver meanwhile has not missed a beat without him.  If another team wants to hire him as a HC and the Panthers get two 3rds for it I'll wish him the best and pack his bags myself.
