No prospect screams "WR1" to me after cursory glance

You're barking up the wrong tree. Remove your emotion from the equation. I defended KB tooth and nail here, honestly more than anyone else. Spare me the anguish. And I really hope you aren't under the impression that I want Hurney as GM. If so you are very misinformed.

All that aside, if you want the harsh truth, we're really no worse off as an offense without KB. There's a reason we were able to reach the Super Bowl with Ted Ginn. We tried the lumbering slow WR thing, it's time for something else.

It wasnt really directed at you, but a lot of people one second said pretty good things about KB because he was on the team, all of us obviously wanted him to flourish. Many of the same though were the first to flip and say good riddance when he was gone.  Hurney wasted that pick.  And no I wasnt under the impression that you personally liked Hurney.

I agree that Ted Ginn and Cotchery the reliable chains mover werea big reason we made it to the Superbowl-- Phili Brown was a big reason we kept up in that game when many others seemed like they were happy just to be there.

I do believe had Kelvin played in the Superbowl instead of Funchess at the time, we would have had an even better chance-- his MO was showing up when it mattered like the Florida State National Championship.

Ive tried to move past the "anguish" and will if Hurney connects on the 3rd round pick we got for him, whether be by trading for a starter or drafting a starter that contributes and makes me forget about it.

Funchess, Byrd, Samuel, Clay(Returns), Free Agent (Wallace/Pryor/M.Bryant), Draft Pick Round 3 pick 3b (DJ Moore).... Problem Solved.

Considering Mccaffrey and Olsen get touches....thats a solid lineup under Norv and leaves us with the 3 picks ahead of Moore to address DE, S, and whichever other hole Hurney decides to go after.

If we sign a Robinson, Wallace, or Moncerif.. There is no need to draft another WR this year..

Between Byrd, Funch, and Samuels you have 3 WR under the age of 25.. No need to add another young WR at this time..

Im down with that-- is DJ Moore similar or better to Byrd?  Im more liking 3 wide receivers, only really want to keep Samuel Byrd and Funchess-- and Byrd is a question mark as to how long he plays until hes hurt again.

It's ok just let the Patriots grab him for a 2nd. They can afford to throw away picks. Hell even Atlanta would probably trade a 2nd round pick for Gordon.

You do realize Gordon is a freak athlete and has the skills to be the best WR in the NFL?

If you want a guy like that, you must trade something of value. The Browns are not trading Gordon away for a 4th round pick.

Value of a 2nd rounder isn’t worth his history.

My son starting to come around. Good job, I was getting worried for a minute...

Oh no JR.. I still want them to make a effort for Landry, Robinson, Watkins, or Gordon.. But if that doesn't work out .. Like I said at the beginning of this.. We still need to get  Guys like Wallace, Moncerif, Brown, Lee, Kendall Wright and Matthew's to get a vet on this roster...

You notice Pryor still is a no go and waste of money for me..

What do you think landry would command on the market? And how much do you think we should dedicate towards a fa wr or wrs

Landry will want 14 mil.. I would offer 10 to 12mil for him.  Maybe 13.. For Landry only..

Depending on the player I say 10 to 12mil total..

Hurney cant draft a 2nd rounder to save his life---

I would bet Josh has a better chance of blossoming and not messing up again than Hurney picking a winner in the 2nd.  Ill make some more Eric Sheldon, Amini, Dwayne Jarrett, Everette Brown(OMG) and so on jokes----

How many 2nd rounders has Hurney hit on total versus his picks?  5 %-- and Im having trouble thinking of one of his that worked out?  Even 5% chance--does Josh Gordon have a better than 5 % chance to play more than 2 years and catch 2000 yards and 16 touchdowns in 2 years?  If so-- I would say trade that 2nd for Josh.

i didn't mean another funchess in the literal sense, but another WR of comparable value. someone with a different skill-set entirely but would be considered the same caliber player, if that makes sense.

i think we have other needs to fill via FA so i'm not interested in spending the money necessary for a big time guy. we'd have to draft one.

I wouldn't waste another draft pick on a WR until you find out what you have in Byrd, Samuels and Funch.. All under the age of 25..

Then Cam already has to wait on these guys getting up to snuff.. He shouldn't have to wait for another when you can give him a day one ready starter in FA...

What were to happen if some of these sites were right and we did draft someone like Sutton?  I havent really started watching the highlights on all the draft receivers, and I dont watch college football.  I did watch Christian Kirks, like them a lot-- some think hes Gods gift, and some dont.  Some think he will pull an Odell Beckham and shoot up, some think he will be a 2nd rounder.

Not when you need DE, Safety, OL, and probably RB and TE..

We have enough projects at WR. Samuels, Funch, Byrd, and even CMC need all the reps they can get.. Especially with them all learning Norv system..

Yeh

Im totally on the 2 free agent receivers thing, we dont need to draft another and wait to see if they pan out.

Use the 1st pick on a Safety, if one is there, the 2nd on one of the others like DE or a tightend.  The 2 3rd rounders for me can be a running back and offensive line. The late round picks can be what ever picks--I dont care-- just people that will compete and maybe be better than some of the backup scrubs we have.
