What does everyone think about Marqise Lee?  I think there is a good chance the very top guys stay where they are at.

I would be happy with him along with a 2nd to 4th rounder.

I’m on board for Lee, as I feel the other guys will get paid or stay where they’re. Fringe #1 guy, with consistent production even being the #3 WR. Hoping they make bringing him in a priority in fa. A move like that allows so much flexibility in the draft imo

Think about this for a moment as a Panthers fan.

It's 2018, Steve Smith has been gone for 5 years, and we have 36 pages dedicated to a discussion about once again desperately searching for a #1 WR.

How in the hell is DG still highly regarded here?

Is Lee any better than Samuel?  Lee from what I saw catches decent on crossing routes and underneath stuff, but showed a lot of drops down field.  Samuel part deux?

Allen Robinson sounds like a winner-- assuming hes not going to come back from his injury slow and have a swollen knee every other week.

Flash,...oh oh,.... Flash,...oh oh,... Gordon,..folks.  if we chant enough, maybe it will happen.

In all fairness he did draft KB to replace Steve Smith. KB might not have been a number 1 receiver in the entire NFL, but he was the Panthers number 1 and then fuged his knee all up

Knee injury or not he was consistently boom or bust from week to week. He would either dominate for his size like he should or he was just flat out getting shut down by CB's whom he dwarfed in comparison. I really liked KB, I went to bat for him many times here, I wish him well. But we whiffed on that first rounder.

The reality is since we sent Steve Smith packing we have yet to draft or acquire a WR who we could say is a clear cut playmaker or game changer. We've been relegated to the same old song and dance of "well maybe this year is the year he will finally take the next step" for too long now. It's time to get out the wallet, and bring in a known commodity.

Lee makes some spectacular catches downfield however, I don’t know what to expect from Samuel next year. We agree on Robinson, but whichever the jags sign back we need to go after the guy they don’t. Would love gordon but not having a 4th this year really stings

Yeh getting only a 3rd for KB was really stupid-- thanks Marty.

Its hard to know what the Browns might do with Gordon.  They have a lot of picks, so they can jump up and move around to get just about anyone they want.

SO they dont have to do anything with Josh.  Ill say this though, if we dont go get him and the Patriots get him for example their 2nd,.......

Oh boy,... I dont need to go there.  If we can get him for a 2nd,.. hes probably better than worrying about Marty hitting on a 2nd rounder--

I could see it,... Marty staring at another Amini,.... calling to him,... we are all like NOOO MARTY(slow cartoon language) DONT DO IT,.. take the tightend or the Corner,... not another Amini,...

But he does it,.. and the Patriots get Josh Gordon,... or Frisco does,.. or ATLANTA does-- OMG could you imagine?

If Atlanta gets Gordon, it is over. They will win the NFCS with that offense. My goodness could you imagine having to go up against Julio/Gordon and those 2 backs Freeman/Coleman. It wouldn't be fair.

it's not like DG ignored the position. he drafted KB, Funchess and Samuel - 3 WRs in the first 2 rounds of the draft. he didn't trade KB.

i was down on funchess but the improvement he has show from day 1 to now is pretty unbelievable. i think he can be a 1000 yard 10 TD guy, which is fantastic in our weak passing offense.

jury is out on samuel, but when he was healthy the way he moved looked special.  i'm excited about what he can become.

i think another WR right around funchess' level would be good enough. i don't think paying a top 10 guy is realistic though.

    • Hope Koch recovers (he’s stated numerous times he doesn’t like to be called “koochie”) soon. But he does not instill confidence in the crease. I don’t have any confidence in any of our goalies, healthy or not. Andersen when available gives us the best chance to win but he’s never available.    Team has to explore trade options soon.
    • Respectfully, I completely disagree. Last year we were:  32nd in Sacks. 32nd in Turnovers.  32nd in Rushing TDs allowed  29th in Scoring.  We were absolutely atrocious on defense last year and that was with a full stable of weapons in Derek Brown, Frankie Luvu and Brian Burns that played all 17 games.  Using yards per game as a metric to guage our success lacks the context that because our offense was so inept teams were not driving the length of the field, they were starting at their 40-50 yard line.  This year, our Defense ranks:  31st in Sacks. Tied for 19th in Turnovers  31st in Rushing TDs allowed 32nd in Scoring  His defense fails to get pressure, fails to turn the ball over and fails to stop the run. Three things you absolutely have to do to be successful in the NFL.  Denver meanwhile has not missed a beat without him.  If another team wants to hire him as a HC and the Panthers get two 3rds for it I'll wish him the best and pack his bags myself.
