No prospect screams "WR1" to me after cursory glance

Every receiver can't go everywhere. And there is a real chance that Landry,  Robinson and Watkins stay where they are.  If that happens, then you have to start looking at whoever is left.  If you think that Richardson, or John Brown or Matthews is a better option than Pryor,  that is your prerogative. I don't,  but I can see how you could have that opinion. But in my opinion,  you should easily see why others would believe the opposite, especially when you start looking at numbers,  situations,  take systems/fit into account or even just dumb luck.  You keep saying 29 like it's some horrible thing. Pryor is not an RB,  and by all accounts he takes his craft seriously and all that comes with it. Moreover,  with this injury-plagued group of FA WRs,  at least Pryor stays healthy. Dude has several prime years of football left.  So,  once all your dreams are gone,  you have a choice.  Rely on the draft,  or take a flier on some of the guys with upside who,  for whatever reason,  have a little more question marks than the others (realizing that even the top guys have underachieved as well), and hope that a change of scenery will work out for the team and the player. Personally,  I'd rather go into the season with ex-thousand yard receiver receiver than Funchess and a bunch of raw rookies, but that's me.

If we somehow end up with Pryor, Landry or whoever,  I think that it would be pretty dumb to cry about it. If someone can be productive, they can be productive.  If someone can take it to the house on any given play, that's  a good thing.

No he doesn't the body doesn't work like that... This is what actually happen.. When you make that conversion 1st your body isn't use to the punishment or over use.. Wr get hit more than QB and use more muscle fibers that deteriorate..  that why ppl who make the conversion don't  last in the league (other than Anquan Boldin)..

You can love on Pryor all you want.. But I know how this story ends.. He sucks he had 1 fluke year.. Teams that needed WR'S let him walk.. Another year Cam will play with crap and the FO will act like they tried. .

If they make another dumb move like this it just proves that this coaching staff and FO will never get it..

I'm not completely sold on Pryor,  but I know what I see,  and I keep abreast of the context of what's going on with these guys.  Just like I told people that there was (and is)  more to Funchess,  I'm telling you that there is more to Pryor.  You've already seen it.

Pryor has always been an athlete.  He's been a running QB.  He is well put together.  All that punishment and muscle jive is just that.

My opinion is you make a play for actual talent and a track record of production.. Instead of the same ole potential "I hope" signing that have held this team back.. If this team is serious about putting talent around Cam? They will finally switch tactics and do it.. If they go with another Pryor like signing I will know they aren't serious about this and still gambling with Cam's career..

Watkins was  continually hurt in Buffalo,  so much so that Goodwin got plenty of opportunity, kind of like Shepard when the Bucs receivers went down.  We already have our version of Marquise Goodwin in Byrd, and perhaps another on the PS in Duke.  Goodwin is smallish with signature speed.  He's also not without his own injury history which may be a major reason he didn't stick with the Bills. I just don't really see what he's have to offer to us,  but mere competition in camp.

Byrd and Samuel are still in the ? Category for me, I wanna believe they will progress especially byrd but I’m seen that song and dance before so I’ll wait and see. Even with injuries Goodwin didnt really get a chance until last year. 952 yards on that 49ers team is what I can only hope byrd or Samuel can accomplish. He’s Only comparable to our receivers in size, his production besides tds surpassed every guy on the roster not named olsen or funchess. I doubt it happens but he’s no scrub

That's great if there is actually someone out there that wants to come and that you can actually get.  I've already told you that Landry is likely staying in Miami.  The track record of everyone else is spotty.  And I can't  help you if you can't  see the talent of some of the others.

Wow you seen something in Pryor (again 1 fluke year) but can't see Landry is more than a slot dink and donk king?? Smh

Again Top dawg You're a hypocrite.. Goodwin just like Pryor has that 1 year of production .. is younger and has been a actual WR longer.  But you don't want that?? Hmmm .  There are more WR on the list with more years of production..

Top Dawg is in love with measurables instead of actual production..

All you see is 6'4 4.4 speed and you get excited.. You don't notice he is only running 2 routes his hands aren't good and limited in his knowledge of being a WR.. There were even stories last year in TC how Norman was clowning this dude in practice..

Preferring one receiver to another based upon fit,  needs,  cap reasons and/or measurables does not make one a hypocrite.  Stop being stupid.

Since we're into videos,  watch the versatility.

His catch rate improved in the NFL vs College. He has progressed and in Norv's system he could be a great fit especially being under Chud as an OC.

You're right I'm wrong.. You're not a hypocrite.. Your just hopelessly dreaming of a unicorn.. When reality says he's a mule with a popsicle stick tape to his head..

    • We can't afford to reach for one of the first round QBs this year. I would love for nothing more than Bryce to be the reason we don't even scout the bastards
