Norv flew back to California without signing a deal.

If he's coming in here making demands and asking for a lot then we should just move on. You're job is to make the offense successful and if you do that you have nothing to worry about. If you can't accept that as an offensive coordinator then maybe you shouldn't be an offensive coordinator...

Someone remind me about how Norv spurned RR before going to The Vikings

It wasn’t the Vikings.

He chose the Browns of all teams over us when Chud got his head coaching gig, IIRC.

He was Ron’s first choice for OC, but Turner elected to go with Chud to Cleveland and we ended up hiring Shula.

If what I heard is correct, Norv has been in town watching game tape with Ron and assessing what needs to be done and what he would be working with. Both sides doing due diligence to make sure their philosophies and overall fit would be a good match. Neither side wants to rush into something without checking off all the boxes. It is an interesting development though if true. Maybe Norv just wanted to go home for the weekend and both sides are taking a couple days to think it over.

Yeah, or maybe Norv really is a spy, and now will take all of Rivera's offensive plans and sell them to the highest bidder.

Think about it.

Ron:  Hey Norv ol buddy, let's throw on some tape so you can see what you are walking into.  It is exciting!  Cam freaking Newton, brotha!  CMC all day baby!

Norv:  Hmmm, who is this Bersin guy tripping over the turf? The guy who dropped the opening drive TD, tell me about this Clay kid?  Oh, yeah, "Speedbump Kalil" is it? You just signed him to a deal last year?  Is this tape on repeat? Seems like we just watched Stewart do this 1 yard run already.

Um, Ron, I forgot I left the stove on in Cali.  I'll be right back.

His plan of run, run, play action pass shouldn't go for very much..

Maybe he's concerned that a new owner will come in and fire them all...?

That's very valid for a 65 year old man.  We don't know how that will go, but my optimistic hope is that the ownership groups would let the team run during and after the transition for a year or two before they got too hands on with everything.

Interesting and well measured.  I wonder how this will work out.  This must be pretty major deal of give and take between Rivera and Turner if they have to go sleep on it for a bit.  Maybe my understanding is limited (probably so), but this doesn't seem like a "normal" hiring situation.

Go after a college coordinator, imo. No one on staff already is capable. That didn't stop him with Shula though, so who knows.

My question, do you think a College Coordinator would help Cam? Like actually call him out for his bull poo?
